All time Favorite black licorice. If you are a black licorice lover, this is the best. Medium hardness, perfect flavor, not too strong. The way licorice is suppose to be. No chemical flavors. And… of course, it’s fun to bite off each part at a time, just like kids do. Thank you for making this available on the West coast. (Note: The strawberries ones are too sour)

I absolutely love the flavor and texture of these candies - set up a subscription. Strong licorice flavor, not too sweet. Very sticky texture - may not be appropriate for sensitive dental work.

A Classic Look, But a Bit Too Firm and Bitter for My Taste I’d heard a lot about Gimbal’s Scottie Dogs and decided to give them a try since I’m a big fan of black licorice. The packaging is charming and fun, and I appreciated the resealable bag and the use of real licorice root and anise. That said, the texture was firmer than expected, almost hard, and the flavor had a bitter edge that didn’t quite land for me. It’s not the worst licorice I’ve tried, but it’s far from my favorite. If you like a strong, less-sweet licorice with bite, this might suit you. But for those who prefer a smoother, softer, or sweeter profile, this one may be a bit intense.
