These are used in UK schools and ideal for kids without the need to install software- or 'learn programming' in any writing sense - it's all 'drag and drop' logic connect USB, go to the designated website and you will get your first introduction to programming them- a lot of fun even for us so called adults. Bought this for my nephew who is a budding STEM enthusiast and he loves it. He’s young but the microbit software is intuitive enough for him to use and program so we are very pleased.

This micro:bit micro controller is really, really easy to use, and it's a great way to introduce kids into the world of robotics and programming. I wish I had had one of these when I was a kid! I'm also very impressed with the integration this has with Microsoft MakeCode. I picked up several more of these. The goal is to try and have my kids addicted to these things instead of video games for the summer.
