How to Draw Patterns: Easy and Fun Step-by-Step Guide for Unique Creations

What a fantastic and useful book. Whether you are a complete beginner, or a more experienced colourist looking for inspiration, this book has got everything you need. Lots of really easy to follow step by step tutorials for all sorts of different effects, patterns and textures, and what I really love are the pages and pages of ideas and extra reference patterns for when you're feeling a bit stuck. Also there are some cute full colouring pages at the back. The illustrations, as usual, are absolutely adorable. I'd totally recommend this book to anyone who has become addicted to the cute and cosy colouring trend.

Bought for my girlfriend, she loves it. really good for inspiration, and unique patterns and styles of colouring in. Good quality book too. Would recommend using a sheet of card behind each page, so that the ink doesn't run through to the next page.

Just arrived and got started on it straight away as I was so looking forward to it. I love the idea of the book, the patterns, textures, effects and library at the back. I even love the space provided for you to practice the patterns on each page. BUT the paper really is not very good. I always put paper/plastic sheet behind pages when using alcohol markers so I know to expect bleedthrough to the back. It does bleed through to the back (as expected), but worse than that, the black printed outlines on the pictures smudge into the alcohol marker when it is laid down. I never go up to the edge with alcohol markers because I know they spread, but even allowing for a gap, the markers spread up to the lines and the lines smudge - so this spoils the effect and enjoyment. I used a variety of alcohol markers and most of them saturated the page. Even the Ohuhu markers soaked the page (though not as much as most!). This has spoilt the enjoyment of the book for me and I am now going to buy an alcohol marker proof sketch-book so that I can make my own library of patterns. I will complete the book because I hate leaving anything unfinished, but it isn't as fun as I hoped! The paper is Amazon paper and there are varying degrees of quality of Amazon paper and this is the worst! Honestly, cheap printer paper is even better! Wouldn't be so bad if the poor paper quality was reflected in the price, but it isn't and this book is not cheap! Nevertheless, I'm still giving the book 4 stars because I love everything in it. Coco Wyo did a great job with the book content but the paper really is a let down and the price is far too high for such poor quality paper and I purchased it at the on offer price! And I just noticed today that the price has gone up since I ordered it three days ago!

Absolutely love this book so far. Perfect for learning new patterns. I am new to colouring. I will get many hours of use out of this book and refer to it in future. Pens do bleed through so you will need something behind each page when you colour. Highly recommend

Several examples of how to apply hard shading and highlights, how to blend, how to add patterns and draw unique details. Shows how to do create patterns as; patchwork, knitting, glitter, fruits, flowers, insects, glass, stones and earth, Cristal, cement, honeycomb, melting drip, tiles, bricks, scales, rust, wood, ocean foam, bubbles, ripples, puddles, animal spots, hair, fur, sky, etc etc etc….. There are loads of pages to test out ideas, mix and match effects, textures and patterns before you use in your final book. If you want to master and enjoy even more your coloring experience, I highly recommend this book. “Practice makes perfect”

Lovely book. A4 size rather than the square size the colouring books are. Lots of details instructions for creating patterns.

A.M.A.Z.I.N.G!!!!! Recently got back into colouring and felt a bit lost when looking at ideas on Tiktok. Saw this book advertised and thought I may as well try it. It might be the best purchase I've ever made. Has SO much inspiration inside and has so many different ideas/different things for you to colour.

Ein wirklich gutes Lern Buch wenn man lernen möchte struktur zu machen, muster usw. auch super Toll als Inspo. man mann nicht weiß wie man am boden oder wänden machen soll gibt es extra 5 seiten nur mir Inspo. Am ende gibt es noch 6 seiten (bildern) die du malen kannst um im praxis zu setzen was du gelernt hast. Es ist auch alles beschrieben was du alles brauchst, also was für stiften um verscheiden Strukturen zu machen, ebens falls die schritten die zu befolgen musst.

I absolutely love this book! It’s perfect for beginners who want to learn how to draw patterns and textures — the explanations are clear and easy to follow, and there are even practice pages at the end! It’s absolutely amazing! I haven’t gone through the entire book yet, but I definitely plan to. It truly feels like a coloring class you can follow at your own pace and in your own way!

This book is awesome! It has so many amazing patterns I would never think of and I love how it's all laid out with a step-by-step guide and then an area where you can try for yourself. Almost all my other books are from Coco Wyo as well. I love them! Highly recommend!
