As far as I know they both do the same thing so its up to you which ever one you have to work with.

I would not put this on virgin hair. You only apply it to the portion that you do not want relaxed. This product is used to protect the hair from being relaxed, so typically you would use it on the portion of the hair that has already been relaxed and does not need to be relaxed again. Do not apply to new growth or virgin hair.
