Perfect for use case
Needed it for a small home office and it gave me the ability to use the laptop and a second screen without taking up too much room on my desk. Plug and play.

Deactivates some laptop features, but the docking station itself is great.
Only two complaints: 1. the laptop's (read: not the docking station's) USB ports deactivate once the computer is docked, causing problems for me since the wireless signal to the USB dongle is obstructed. (I had to use a 3rd party USB hub to bring it closer.) 2. the speakers on the laptop stop working once docked. I don't have an extra set of speakers; my current set are connected to my more powerful desktop. The audio is sent through the display port to my monitor, but adjusting the volume on the monitor is a pain, as you have to select several options to get to a sub-menu for every single adjustment. It would've been nice if the laptop's speakers would just continue to work while it is docked. However, I think both of those problems are due to the laptop itself, not the docking station. So, as far as the docking station itself goes, the product is great. It's a low-profile device, with a lot of ports on the back. There are two display ports (as well as a VGA, if anyone still uses that), allowing me to have a dual monitor setup (using large monitors). There are four USB SuperSpeed (3.0) ports, one of which contains extra power, in case you want to charge a phone, tablet, or other devices. Of course it has audio-in (microphone) and audio-out (speaker) ports as well. (I'm using an HP Elitebook G1 840 [this model is also called an "Ultrabook", for some reason].)

Good with occasional connection issues.
Works adequately for multiple monitor usage on your laptop, sometimes putting the laptop to sleep messes up the orientation of the screens, or sometimes 1 won't connect, I don't think there's anything wrong with the 1 I have, so I would guess there is just a general connectivity issue with the design or how they interact with the laptop. Solid over all though, and not worth a serious complaint. If you need one they work. At around 20$ I paid the value was fine, and the set up is literally just plugging it in.

Just the Docking Station I needed!
Exactly what I was looking for on old of my old laptops. Great price as well!

Display ports are broken
The display ports on the back of the docking station don't work at all. Any time I connect one of my monitors, it starts flickering on and off and I can't do anything about it. I've tried to navigate through HP's support, but no luck. I assume the thing shipped with outdated firmware, but I don't have admin privileges to fix it. You'd think the sellers would care enough about their product to ship it with more recent firmware than 2013, but they've made it abundantly clear that they don't care. Absolute waste of $100, I'm willing to bet the product isn't even "new" either. Save yourself the headache and just get yourself a splitter for the display port on your laptop.

HP Docking Station
Work as advertised
B**.
It works, but falsely advertised!
This docking station does work for my HP probook 640 G4, but it is not the same model number as shown in item title and the serial.numbrr could not be found on the HP website. Picture is of the back of the dock I received. I would not have an issue if the product is advertised correctly. Amazon is investigating.

This has been purchased for an HP laptop, it has four USB ports, a serial port for the monitor and a couple of additional ones not currently in use. Docking is really straight forward and it has been the primary power source for several weeks with out interruption so none of the power issues identified in other reviews were experienced. The docking station was good value for money, arrived promptly and was reasonably packaged, all a plus in my book. The laptop drops neatly into two prongs and then locks into position with a charging button to the right side, simple and easy to use. Definitely worth the cash for the convenience.
