Do you give up? It was 'me new shoes'. The Amazon van had just come. I can vouch that contrary to at least one other review of these boots they do not look like clown shoes at all. That was a daft thing to say. Maybe there's somewhere where clowns wear boots this nice, but if they do i cannot see them getting any decent laughs. If you turned up at a circus wearing these you'd be out on your ear. Either that or you'd have to sit in the audience. Then you'd feel a fool, wouldn't you, with your daft nose and purple hair. I usually take an 8 and these are a snug fit - not tight or uncomfortable, no, but I will definitely be cutting my toenails more regularly while these boots are in my possession. In a sense then they've paid for themselves already, as it is a bit Howard Hughes down there right now. My toenails are acting as a kind of shim, almost. I've got my thin or thin-ish socks on. I think if I put thicker socks on with these it would be a squeeze. I bought five pairs of thick socks this morning as well. Innit marvellous. If you usually have an 8 and a 9 is definitely too big I'd go for an 8 1/2 in these if I were you, if they do them in an 8 1/2. Otherwise, as I say, it's a case of thin socks and toenail maintenance left, right and centre. Third pair of shoes I've bought in less than a month, and we're not even really allowed out are we. I've bought more shoes in this lock-down than in the last four years. That's frustration that is. Nice piece of leather. Not stiff or cardboard-like at all. I can see them scuffing easily if I end up back on the Kraken when I go out. Touch wood. The Kraken would be the death of me if i let it. Kraken or Captain Morgan. Once the Captain starts sticking his oar in on a night out you know there's going to be trouble. The other year I woke up on a grave in the cemetery. I must have mistaken it for my bed. I was halfway to Ipswich. If they reopen the pubs soon I think I'll get a few of those screen protectors you have for the mobile phones, and just tape them round these boots, just to keep them tip-top. They're transparent, those screen protectors are, so no one will notice, it'll be fine. The laces are okay. You know footwear these days, men's footwear anyway, the first thing you have to do is chuck the laces. You could get by with the laces in these. They don't slip. I've swapped them over for some flat ones anyway. I prefer a flat lace, me. I'll use the laces that came with these boots to tie up bin bags or what-have-you. Nothing goes to waste round here. Apart from my soul. I don't know about you but I've definitely lived alone too long. Twenty-five years now, it is. I'm only 49. This can't be all there is, can it? "Let's just be friends," they kept saying. I'm not a bad person. Nice boots though. 81/2 out of 10 for deffo, have yourself a pair. I mean, it's like lipstick on a pig with me, a pair of boots isn't going to change my luck after all this time. Knowing my luck i'll fall asleep on a bench and they'll be gone when i wake up. I'll just see a clown in the distance giving me the bird. They only wear the clown shoes at work.

Had these boots for over 18 months and only yesterday realised I hadn't written a review. I wear them very regularly and have done since I've had them. They are brilliant. Very comfortable and still look great (though I do try to keep all my shoes/boots clean however long I have them). Brilliant value too. Better than many pairs I've bought over the years that were much more expensive. Highly recommended.

These shoes are exceptionally good value at £31.99. I bought mine at the end of May and they're still going strong in early November, having had a lot of wear over the summer. They're comfortable, look good and fit as expected (size 12) with plenty of room for my wide feet. I will definitely be buying more when my current ones reach the end of their life.

Comfy, stylish and seem quite well made in terms of the stitching and the glued sole. One shoe is slightly lighter in colour than the other shoe weirdly, but not by much. And the leather tongue on one shoe is made of thinner softer leather than the other. But I enjoy wearing them because they are comfy, fit well, look smart and are quick to put on or take off. Would I recommend yes I probably would, I have already bought a second pair for another family member who was happy with them.

Comfortable and a great fit

I got this pair, used for few days, correct size, fits well, but got sore on the top of my right big toe, I think it is faulty design as it is may be too rigid in the front for this particular shoes. It looks good , the price is good, but no much use.

My husband had been searching high & low for another pair of chukka boots that were like his favorite that needed retiring. I surprised him with these for Christmas and he loves them- almost identical to his old ones!
