Essential for running Avid and many third-party plugins, it protects your licenses from computer failures and software updates by storing them on the device itself. Its compact, durable design ensures you can easily move your authorizations between multiple workstations, making it a must-have for professional audio engineers and creatives on the move. ## Description The new iLok USB Smart Key enables you to carry nearly 500 authorizations with you wherever you go using a single key. Pace's iLok USB Smart Key is required for all optional Avid and Avid-distributed plug-ins plus many other third-party plug-ins and software options for Pro Tools 6.1 and higher. DigiRack plug-ins and other free Pro Tools content do not require an iLok. Note: If you have products that use the older Pace license cards you will need to use the original iLok. The new iLok will not accommodate Pace license cards. Store approximately 500 authorizations on a single iLok New sleek durable design Easily move authorizations from one computer to another - use your software at home at the office at a studio or at a friend's house Authorizations are stored in the secure iLok USB Smart Key-not on the computer or hard drive - so iLok is immune to problems caused by machine upgrades disk maintenance hardware failures and software updates Review: The iLOK works perfectly - Works perfectly. If you're reading this, I assume you know what it is. It's a digital storage locker for the keys which allow you to use advanced software, such as Avid's Pro Tools, and Source Connect. You store your key data on this, plug it in to your PC, and you can launch the software. I give it 5 stars because it just works. When it's plugged in to your PC, the software just starts. No issues. No hiccups. Without it, iLOK secured software won't even start. Now - one thing you must know: don't lose it. If you do, you're in a world of hurt. Because your keys - on this drive - are like cash. If you lose it, you'll have to go through heaven and h--- to get those keys enabled on another iLOK. You might even have to buy the software again - at $1800 a shot. The software companies are concerned that pirates will use keys illegally. So, this is one tight security system. Do - not - lose - it. That may be a hassle waiting to happen, but if you're careful, you're OK. And as I said, the iLOK works perfectly. Review: ILok for your Licenses - It is an ILok, and it functions as intended. ## Features - USB Key for Storing Authorizations - Portable - Can Hold Over 500 Authorizations - Immune from Updates and Crashes ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | ASIN | B00GXNDCXA | | Additional Features | Portable Authorization Storage | | Antenna Location | Gaming, Office | | Best Sellers Rank | #1,731 in USB Flash Drives | | Brand | Avid | | Built-In Media | USB Cable | | Button Quantity | 79 | | Color | Black | | Compatible Devices | PC | | Compatible Operating System Family | Windows | | Connectivity Technology | USB | | Customer Reviews | 4.6 out of 5 stars 247 Reviews | | Global Trade Identification Number | 00858823002004 | | Hand Orientation | Ambidextrous | | Item Weight | 1.44 ounces | | Keyboard Description | Multi Functional | | Keyboard Layout | QWERTY | | Manufacturer | Hal Leonard Music (Avid) | | Mfr Part Number | iLok | | Model Name | 99006503300 | | Model Number | 99006503300 | | Number of Items | 1 | | Number of Keys | 79 | | Number of Packs | 1 | | Number of Sections | 1 | | Recommended Uses For Product | Gaming, Office | | Series Number | 99006503300 | | Special Feature | Portable Authorization Storage | | Style Name | Contemporary | | UPC | 858823002004 663647899279 632709973110 724643113667 | | Warranty Description | Limited. | ## Product Details - **Brand:** Avid - **Color:** Black - **Compatible Devices:** PC - **Connectivity Technology:** USB - **Included Components:** USB Cable - **Keyboard Description:** Multi Functional - **Material:** Plastic - **Recommended Uses For Product:** Gaming, Office - **Special Feature:** Portable Authorization Storage - **Style:** Contemporary ## Images ![99006503300 Pace ILOK 2 Software Authorization Device Holds Licenses - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/61RlE+n7cuL.jpg) ## Questions & Answers **Q: Does this have the software on it and what is it** A: If you have certain software on your computer - it is always locked. This holds the keys. With this plugged in, the software opens. Without it, it won't. **Q: Can one assume this iLok2 is the same as an iLok second-generation referred to on the Avid site?** A: Yes... Precisely the same... It even seems a bit more rugged in its construction in comparison to the V1. It works just as it should for me with both AVID and other software licenses. **Q: Can this ilock work for pro tools m powered 9? I lost mine** A: No it doesn't **Q: what software does it have 2.?** A: I don't remember if it came with any software. I'm using it with the fee ilok license manager software from ilok.com that you can download and use without the dongle. It requires me to update occasionally, so I'm guessing you can't use this dongle without that software. I think it usually connects to the Internet when I start the ilok software. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The iLOK works perfectly *by H***E on April 15, 2016* Works perfectly.
