Will this fold up properly with the added support bottom inside?

Yes, they fold flat because the support flips up allowing the bag to be folded flat.

it works perfectly fine to maintain the temperature that you put them in, for cold of frozen goods, it works perfectly... for Hot items i yet to test it, but i believe it should work as well, as long as the temperature is not extremely hot, like hot to warm should be okay, but burning hot you might damage the bag.

Would a family size frozen lasagna fit in one of these?

The bottom of these bags measure 13 " by 10". If your lasagna dish fits these measurements it should fit flat in the bottom of the bag; however, if it is frozen and has a secure lid it could go in the bag sideways. Just don't let it thaw in this position

How long does it keep hot items hot?

Sorry, I don't know. I only use for refrigerated goods when shopping at Costco and Sams. Both are about 40 minutes from home and they work well for this purpose.
