I was expecting them to be softer after washing. I like them because they are soft, stretchable, and relatively thin. It held my boys snugly and made them feel secure so they would sleep easily. It was stretchable enough for them to move around in a little bit, so they never felt trapped.I tried some non-Gerber branded thermal blankets, and although they were also of good quality, they didn't get as soft as the Gerber, and they had less "stretchability."My youngest son loves these blankets. In fact, once when he was getting to take a nap in his crib, I handed him a non-Gerber blanket. He pulled himself up by the rails of his crib (he was just beginning to want to walk) and threw the blanket out of the crib! No joke! He only wants the Gerber thermal blankets. He is the end-user of the product and a very satisfied end-user at that.
