I gave her these for Christmas and she said they helped her a lot. At the facility where she lives they use handles that attach to normal utensils but they are not very sturdy and are loose fitting. The Adaptive Eating Utensils by Celley are very sturdy (both the handle and the steel portion) and the handles are not detachable. The only negative aspect of this item is that there is not option to have a name engraved on them! My mom was worried someone at her facility would steal hers. I ended up using a bright red nail polish and painting her name on the black handle part.

**Q: Can i buy forks separately?**
A: I don’t really know as I never received my order. I guess it got lost and they were unable to resend my order

**Q: What is the weight of the untensils?**
A: I can't help with actual weight, but they are much easier for husband to grip with balance.  Normal silverware is too thin and lightweight for his hand.

**Q: Does that little stand/elevation underneath the utensil get in the way?**
A: Not at all.  Very easy to use for someone who needs a little help.  They rest nicely with the extra piece and or rest on the plate or bowl.  It’s been the best purchase for us in keeping our grandpa out of a nursing home during Covid and home with us.

**Q: Can these be bent?**
A: I wouldn't try it.  The handles are very heavy but can't tell how far the metal part of the Utensils are anchored into the handles could be all the way, could be just a few inches.

At the facility where she lives they use handles that attach to normal utensils but they are not very sturdy and are loose fitting. The Adaptive Eating Utensils by Celley are very sturdy (both the handle and the steel portion) and the handles are not detachable. The only negative aspect of this item is that there is not option to have a name engraved on them! My mom was worried someone at her facility would steal hers. I ended up using a bright red nail polish and painting her name on the black handle part.

My husband has Parkinson's disease. I bought this set to make it easier for him to eat "normally". This set had given him back some dignity while eating. The spoons offer a deeper bowl so he doesn't shake all the soup or cereal out while eating. The larger handles offer him the ability to feed himself with confidence again. Something so simple added a higher quality of life. Down side: The metal is too flimsy and flexible. It is great for soup or cereal, but bent easily while he was getting himself some ice cream.
