Neat as a pin, with no drips or grains to wipe up after. Keep it high enough that nothing wet will spill on it and give your shelf some breathing room. I first threw the sheet in as the water just started and it stuck to the side of the washer. I used a clothing article to mix it in the water. Going forward I'll be more careful to make sure the detergent falls completely in the water. Give it time to dissolve before adding clothes. The box needs to open better in my opinion. I will buy this again. So little waste for landfill. EDIT: I found out later that the box opens like a drawer. I dissolve the sheets in a jar of water.
