Edition de l'album en double vinyle, pochette gatefold. Le fil conducteur de cet album est l'utilisation de l'effet "phaser", puisqu'on le retrouve sur la totalité des titres de cet album. Très bon exercice de style, n'en déplaise aux déçus de l'album, on retrouve une décennie "70s" très bien analysée & ré-interprétée dans cet album : du progressif début 70s au plus dansant fin70s mais, comme à chaque fois, un petit clin d'oeil qui rappelle que cet album est contemporain. Il est clair que cela peut étonner, surprendre (décevoir ?) certains auditeurs (on retrouve même un peu de tb303 saturée sur un titre) mais cet album a été produit avec soin & finesse. En somme, un très bon album & définitivement un album phare.

The Slow Rush klingt wie Retro-Pop und Disco der späten 70er- und 80er-Jahre, aber mit moderner Studio-Perfektion: warme Synth-Flächen, pumpende Bass-Lines, knackige Drums und viel Chorus- und Phaser-Glanz. Der Sound wirkt zugleich sonnenverblasst und neonhell, nostalgisch ohne Kostüm. Gerade diese polierte Vintage-Ästhetik macht das Album so leichtfüßig und hypnotisch.
