Medicare for Dummies

I bought this book about 5 months before my Medicare would start. I knew a little dealing with my mother’s health but had no idea how confusing it was to get started. This book is very detailed and thorough. It broke things down into easily understood sections. It doesn’t tell you what to choose, just what happens based on your choices. My siblings both have Medicare Advantage but it’s not the best choice for me. Neither is better or worse, there are many things to consider. I still don’t understand why Part D must be so convoluted, you choose a plan and pray.

Excellent book--buy and read this six months before you're eligible for Medicare

This is an excellent resource for those new to Medicare. I started with this book, then attended a Medicare 101 seminar conducted by the State Health Insurance Assistance Program (SHIP). What I learned from the book made the seminar clear and easy to understand. I feel confident in the decisions I need to make in a couple of months, being informed by sources not trying to sell me something. I will continue to use this book as a resource as I join and navigate the Medicare system.

A must for anyone getting ready to sign up for Medicare.
