That this will help transfer cassettes to the computer
This was a such a help in helping me to restore my cassette to Cd through the way of the computer. I think it did a great job at converting.

Don't waste your money
While this product sounds good in theory, this machine is a flimsy, cheap piece of equipment that significantly under-delivers. Not only is the sound quality poor as compared to a typical tape deck, the sound file created is riddled with electric glitch noises so it becomes unusable. Add to that the fact that the product is ineligible for return, according to Amazon. Avoid this item.

Very Disappointed
I did not use it for and long time but when I did try to use it it was broken. Very disappointing! And it was expensive! I thought sharper image was a good product.

Easy to use, but poor recording quality
The memory card provided in the box did not work; it did not record, and it also didn’t even register as an external storage device when I inserted the memory card into the computer. I tried my own memory card, which did record sound. However, the quality was lacking. It sounded like every few seconds it would “skip” in recording, which made it very difficult to follow, especially since I was recording someone singing. Although it’s an easy product to use, recording quality is more important, and this product does not do an adequate job. I’ve returned it for a refund and, instead, plan to use a regular stereo component cassette player plugged into my computer.

Quality of the cassette is an important factor as to the outcome of the conversion.
I found that any cassette with much use, which plays fine on a regular cassette player, may not convert well to the MP3 format. I was disappointed to find that some of my favorite cassettes did not perform well when played on this device, or when converted into an MP3 format. For most cassettes, the result was at least satisfactory, or even good.

Shocked that Sharper Image would put their name on this junk!
The idea of converting old audio cassettes to MP3 is great, but this is a very disappointing implementation! The whole device seems very cheaply made, with thin plastic battery cover, etc. The digital recording controls are on the back of the recorder, and black-on-black buttons are really difficult to use. The worst aspect of all is that it seems that the audio buffer is too small, so, when recording, there are frequent missing chunks! That has nothing to do with the quality of the original tape; you can play it back and hear the sections that this machine cannot handle. There are now many other equivalent products that deliver the promised functionality much better than this junk pile
