DJI osmo mobile 7p
My first foray into the world of phone gimbals I did some reading and research before ultimately settling for this DJI osmo mobile 7p , it’s going to take some getting used to and I look forward to creating some great photos and videos for personal use. The weight is comfortable to hold even with my iPhone 15 pro max it feels very stable in my hand and I love how strong and sturdy the grip is on my phone, the battery was relatively quick to charge on a rapid charger and it lasts for a number of hours, connecting to the Dji Mimo app was easy and intuitive it also has lessons to get you up and running !

Incredible Stabilization
I recently upgraded to the DJI Osmo Mobile 7P Gimbal Stabilizer, and it has completely transformed how I shoot video on my phone. Whether I’m filming with an iPhone or Android, the 3-axis stabilization is rock-solid — smooth pans, steady tracking shots, and no more shaky footage, even while walking. The native subject tracking is impressive — it locks on and follows faces or objects seamlessly, which is perfect for vlogging or solo shooting. I also love the built-in lighting, especially in low-light situations. It gives a subtle but effective boost to video quality. Setting up is lightning-fast thanks to the Quick Launch feature, and editing is super convenient with the One-Tap Edit via the DJI Mimo app. The built-in extension rod is a bonus for getting wider angles or shooting overhead, and the included tripod makes hands-free filming effortless. Battery life is excellent — I’m easily getting 10 hours of use, and it can even charge my phone while in use, which is a lifesaver during long shoots. If you do any mobile filming, from casual content to serious social media production, the Osmo Mobile 7P is an absolute game-changer. DJI has nailed it again!

DJSmooth, Smart, and Reliable for Everyday Filming
I've been using the DJI Osmo Mobile 7P for a while now, and it's great for making phone films that appear smooth and professional. The 3-axis stabilisation keeps the video steady, and the tracking feature follows faces and things accurately. The battery lasts around 10 hours, and it's nice that I can charge my phone with it. The extension rod and tripod let you shoot from different angles, and the DJI app's quick-edit features are easy to use. It is a little big, but it feels high-end and works extremely well. It's ideal for vlogs, trips, or filming every day. Con: You cannot perform live streaming (Facebook, YouTube, etc.) directly from this device. The first step is to record a video, edit it in the app, then manually publish it.

Glad I bought it
I bought this as I was going on holiday and also because I create vlogs related to art. So far I have used it to the greatest extent for the former but have begun to use it for the later too. Overall it is a quality design and is well constructed. DJI’s tutorial videos and its software are excellent and really help the use. The mounting of the phone is very secure even though I have an heavy iPhone 15 in a case and the handle is comfortable. There is a lot to it, so it is well worth practicing before you really want to use it. I have used the extendable boom and the tripod both of which were good. Battery life has been very good, I haven’t used it as a power bank yet but it would certainly help as you tend to keep your phone on the mount and on when using it. The video and photographic quality using the app has been good and I have explored various filters. For my purposes using it creating art, it would have been good if the gimbal allowed downward views to a slightly greater extent, and few degrees more would have made it a lot more flexible for me in that mode of use. All in all though it was a good way of taking photographs and video seamlessly and I think it represents good value for money and it has delivered what I wanted it to. My only concern would be using it in a more urban environment due to worries about phone theft, but I could choose to use it with an otherwise redundant phone.

Cleaver phone photography add on.
This is very much a first use review but so far this is an impressive and useful addition to phone/photo kit. The manufacturing quality is very good as expected from DJI and the product does seem to be well thought out. At first I could not see why a bracket was included for the phone but the bracket used magnetism to hold on the stabiliser. Why not just use magnetism to hold the phone. In use I guess the bucket does provide a fixed position for the phone relative to the device so it knows when it is vertical or horizontal . A simple magnet would not do that and when I am using the phone mainly as a camera it is no big deal just to leave the bracket on the phone. The options for moving the phone while recording are extensive and useful and I particularly like the ability to find and lock on to a head and shoulders and hold it in screen while moving the phone. I wish the instructions were more straightforward though the collection of wen pages and videos are rather confusing and think it may be a while before I have actually managed to explore al the features.

My go to device for hand held filming with iPhone, love the tracking
Excellent device and very handy for filming using my iPhone. Portable, compact, lightweight and easy to use. The tracking feature if one of the best features too. The MIMO app is a very useful additional value add.

App is not nice.
This was my first Gimbal Stabilizer purchase and I was divided between this and the Insta360 Flow Pro 2 but I opted for this due to the slight edge it had in reviews I had watched. However, after unboxing, charging it fully and turning on, it had great difficulty finding my phone, even though it was attached, then prompted me for a firmware update which I duly did. Then I downloaded the app, which was atrocious. The buttons occasionally wouldn't work, the connection kept breaking, plus the interface was just dire with small screen view and was even overlapping icons. Plus it kept on going to the tutorial library, which I didn't want and was very hard to navigate back to the working interface. Even the quality was suspect, and I have a Samsung S23 Ultra which has a superb camera. I then thought, well, maybe this is me so looked online and was presented with the DJI walk throughs which were dubbed via a very bad AI voice from Chinese, but you could still hear the chinese in the background so what with the stuttering AI, flashing captions, and the noise there was no way I could understand any of it. Besides, they presented nothing useful or intuitive for a first time user. When I came to power it off - apparently you just need to close it - it kept switching on and would not turn off while my phone was in bluetooth mode - even though I pressed the off button for the allocated time. I think my unit was defective so I sent it back, but after that dreadful experience with the app interface and the support pages, I would highly recommend NOT buying it if you are a first time buyer. It does not do a 360 degree turn, plus I found it struggles with down - up movements, which is great for cinematic views. The tracking was good, for the short spurts it was connected to my phone, but that is all I can say it was good at. Hope that helps!

Perfect Gimbal for Smooth, Professional Footage on the Go
I've been using the DJI Osmo Mobile 7P for a few weeks now and it’s exceeded all expectations. Setup is super quick, and the quick launch feature makes it incredibly easy to get up and running in seconds. The 3-axis stabilization works flawlessly, delivering smooth, cinematic shots even when walking or panning quickly. The built-in extension rod and tripod are brilliant additions – I’ve used them for everything from vlogs to time-lapses without needing extra gear. The native tracking is impressively accurate, keeping subjects locked in frame effortlessly. I also love the lighting feature for low-light conditions – it’s subtle but effective. Battery life is excellent, lasting all day for me, and the ability to charge your phone while shooting is a really thoughtful touch. Overall, if you're serious about mobile content creation or just want your videos to look polished and stable, this gimbal is well worth it. Highly recommended!
