I have found these Miscly laces to be excellent replacements that don't fray and are strong enough that you can really pull them tight without worrying about them breaking. They are a little bit shorter than the laces that my shoes came with (45" vs 48") but I prefer this length. Next time I order new shoes, I'll just get these at the same time. Slightly expensive but worth it.
