Building Automation Control Devices and Applications [American Technical Publishers, In Partnership with NJATC] on desertcart.com. *FREE* shipping on qualifying offers. Building Automation Control Devices and Applications Review: Primer and Refresher - I'm a Certified Plant Engineer and I've been a Facilities and Real Property Executive for more than 25 years. One of the "great" mysteries for anyone other than a controls company salesperson (which shall remain unnamed because they'd probably be censored from my review but, we all know who they are) is how to specify and buy a Building Automation System. This book actually WILL help you figure that out. There are several chapters within the book that will help you review specifications and also, even, write a "sequence of events" for your equipment. However; with all the previous stated: even though I have an engineering degree and completely understand MEP and Fire Protection (along with security and access control systems) this book is a richly illustrated primer on how ALL mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, security, access control, and elevator systems can be integrated into a BAS. Additionally, this book, as a refresher, will remind even the most experienced and qualified professional of the fundamentals of facilities infrastructure and equipment. Review: Perfect - The quality of the explanations and illustrations in this book are unbelievably good. You almost cannot believe how they can provide such detail for the price of the book.

fun book
This is a good book for someone who is in the large building engineering trade. Some of the HVAC and plumbing stuff was basic but all of it is good. Good ddc stuff is hard to find and this helps, thanks.

Great Aid for a GC
I work in construction management and have a Civil Engineering degree. Got a position as a MEP Super and realized I didn't know what I was really doing. I had some MEP experience but this book filled in a ton of the gaps. I was finally able to really understand and manage my subs. I don't think that project would have gone nearly as well if I didn't read this book cover to cover. It is not as detailed as some people would like but it gives you a great understanding of building systems and the future of their automation.

a good number of positives
I received this book as scheduled. As a used book, it is quite new. For the book itself, a good number of positives: the quality of the paper, the illustrations are in color and of high quality and the layouts/presentations are very, very good. In summary, a valuable addition to my library.
