Beats Powerbeats Pro 2 - Wireless Noise Cancelling Workout Earbuds with Secure- Fit Earhooks, Up to 45-Hour Battery with Charging Case, Sweat & Water Resistant, Heart Rate Monitoring - Jet Black

As an owner of the Beats PowerBeats 1 for over 5 years, I was skeptical about purchasing these after seeing the different comments between PowerBeats 1 and the new PowerBeats 2, but I am very glad with my purchase and to start using the new features in my day to day activities. Case: The case for the Beats PowerBeats 2 is much lighter (weight wise) and the case is also slimmer compared to PowerBeats 1 case. The case can easily fit into a large pocket or zipper compartment in a purse or bag, but the case is still bigger than an Apple AirPods case. The PowerBeats 2 case is now the same color as the PowerBeats 2 themselves where the PowerBeats 1 case was black, where my PowerBeats 1 are Glacier Blue. Over-Ear Design: The over-ear design for the PowerBeats 2 is much smaller compared to the PowerBeats 1. With smaller ears, I personally feel like it fits much better compared to the PowerBeats 1 over-ear design because the old design used to sit on part of my ear and rubbed my ear making it painful. I can see why people with larger ears do not like the new over-ear design of the PowerBeats 2 because it would be too small for their ears. Inside Ear Design: The inside-ear design for the PowerBeats 2 is a bit larger for the round part and shorter for the speaker part compared to the PowerBeats 1. The PowerBeats 1 were smaller for the round part and longer for the speaker part. I can see why people are having problems not liking the new design because the new design for PowerBeats 2 basically sits on top of the ear canal, instead of being inserted further down to give it a tighter seal. The Inside Ear Design was one of the main reasons why I was skeptical of purchasing because of having small ears. I personally think they fit fine, if not better because since the design is sitting on top of the ear canal the larger round part is not rubbing on my ear sitting inside like the PowerBeat 1 design. Ear Tip Design: The Ear Tip Design for the PowerBeats 2 is a single cone tip compared to the double cone tip on the PowerBeats 1. The tips that come with the PowerBeats 2 are XS, S, M, L, XL. The M is automatically inserted on the PowerBeats 2 when they arrive. The M design fits my small ears easily. If you want more of a tighter seal or need a larger size, then you can easily switch the tips out. If you want it to feel similar to the PowerBeats 1, you can switch out the single cone tip for a double cone tip easily. Charging: Charging for the PowerBeats 2 is now with a USB-C, instead of a lighting charger on PowerBeats 1. PowerBeats 2 also does not come with a charging cable, so you need to purchase one separately or use a current USB-C charging cord you own. My PowerBeats 2 arrived 70% charged, so I was able to use them instantly. The magnets for magnetic charging also feel stronger on PowerBeats 2 than on PowerBeats 1. The magnetic charging for PowerBeats 2 is located on the top and bottom of the large round part, instead of, on the outer part like on PowerBeats 1. PowerBeats still holds a charge for a longer period of time than other earphones especially with the charging case. This is another reason why I love the PowerBeats with how long they last on one charge. Perfect for if you are on the go or use them a lot for a long period of time. Sound: The sound for the PowerBeats 2 is very similar and a bit improved from the PowerBeats 1. New features for Active Noise Cancelling and Spatial Audio, which I am happy to see and try in the near future. Depending on what you are listening to such as music, some songs have very clear details while other songs feel flat, but it could be the way the song was mixed and mastered to begin with. Connectivity: If you have Apple Products such as an iPhone connectivity is the same and instant for the PowerBeats 2 as it is for the PowerBeats 1. It still reads text messages and calls of all types still sound great. It's one of my main reasons why I love the PowerBeats because it's very easy to use with other Apple products. New Features: New features on the PowerBeats 2 includes Active Noise Cancellation, Spatial Audio (like surround sound or 3D audio effect listening), and Heart Monitor if you are active in the gym. Long Wear Period: I feel like the PowerBeats 2 and PowerBeats 1 longwear period is about the same. The PowerBeats 2 are still light where you forget you have them on, but after several hours it does start hurting your ear like the PowerBeats 1 do. This is just common with all earpieces that aren't custom mold fit to your ears. Packaging: The PowerBeats 2 has much cheaper packaging compared to other Beats products including the PowerBeats 1. The PowerBeats 2 packaging is basically a recycled cardboard box with a thin piece of paper holding it together. As soon as you take the paper around the box off, the package instantly opens and the PowerBeats could easily fall out if not unpackaging on a soft surface. Definitely thinner and less packaging than PowerBeats 1 as well. Price: I wouldn't have paid the $300 price when they first came out, but since they have come down in price, it was time to purchase. I was able to purchase these during Prime Days for $175. Overall: I really am enjoying the PowerBeats 2 compared to the PowerBeats 1. I feel like the new design will work better for me. I’m also excited to try all the new features on PowerBeats 2 while also having the same things I love about the PowerBeats 1 such as long hold charge, easy compatibility to other Apple Products, and how it reads my message to me. It’s perfect for me who is always on the go, listening to music, watching videos on my phone, doing video meetings and chatting on the phone. To purchase or not: The best way to know the PowerBeats 2 are for you is by purchasing them and testing them out for yourself. The worst that can happen is it doesn’t work for you for whatever reason and you can easily return them back for a refund.

I recommend doing the custom audio thing a couple times until the audio sounds right. Otherwise, it’ll sound a little flat. Totally optional though. Plays audio clearly. Microphone is okay. Sleek matte black. A more modern look than the 1st version (I call that v1). I love the ear hooks. It’s actually the reason why I wanted these over the usual airpods. Since they always pass the hair spinning / head tossin’ test. The ear hooks are not as adjustable but the ear cushions are. I ended up using my old powerbeats pro v1 cushions. The tapered shape ones. It works perfectly! Compatible with my iPhone. 👍🏼👌🏼 If you want audiophile quality, I would recommend something else.

I bought and used many different earbuds throughout the years. But these are perfect. They are comfortable, they stay in my ear perfectly, great noise cancellation and features, the sound quality is amazing. The connectivity and compatibility is great. The charging time is great, it lasts for a while. And it’s super durable. Perfect earbuds. Only get these.

A little background may help put my experience with the Powerbeats Pro 2 into perspective. My primary earbuds are the Apple AirPods Pro 2. Initially, I had a terrible time getting a secure fit with them, but aftermarket memory foam tips made a dramatic improvement. They now stay secure enough for workouts, although the foam tips unfortunately reduce some of their noise-cancelling effectiveness. Because my gym is quite noisy and often plays loud music, my preferred workout earbuds had been the original Bose QuietComfort Earbuds. They weren't particularly attractive, but their wingtip design gave me a superb, secure fit, the sound was good, and the noise cancellation was the best I've experienced with any earbuds. Unfortunately, the right earbud recently died. I first tried replacing them with the latest Bose QuietComfort Ultra Earbuds (2nd Gen), but Bose has changed the old wingtip design to a stability-band system. For me, the fit wasn't nearly as secure and the earbuds could rotate too easily, so I returned them. That led me to the Beats Powerbeats Pro 2. Unfortunately, my experience with them was brief and disappointing. I'll start with the positive: the fit is excellent. The over-the-ear hooks keep the earbuds firmly locked in place, and I found them comfortable to wear. For someone who has difficulty keeping earbuds secure during exercise, I can certainly understand the appeal. Unfortunately, that's about where the positives ended for me. The sound quality was a considerable step down from my AirPods Pro 2. I found the Powerbeats noticeably weaker and somewhat "tinny" sounding by comparison. More importantly for my particular use, the active noise cancellation was fairly weak. Even my AirPods Pro 2 with memory foam tips rivaled the Beats noise cancellation, with the stock tips, the air pods 2 noise reduction is much better. Neither could equal that of my Bose. Had the Powerbeats Pro 2 offered excellent noise cancellation, I might have been willing to forgive the weaker sound quality in exchange for their exceptionally secure fit. But with both sound quality and noise cancellation falling short of the AirPods Pro 2, I couldn't justify keeping them. The Powerbeats Pro 2 have therefore gone back, and for now I'm returning to my AirPods Pro 2 with memory foam tips. Bottom line: If keeping earbuds securely in place is your highest priority, the Powerbeats Pro 2 certainly accomplish that. I can see them working very well for people who struggle with earbuds falling out during exercise. But if sound quality and strong noise cancellation are equally important to you, I would look elsewhere—particularly given the $249 price tag.

I had the original Powerbeats Pro for about 2 years, and man, did I enjoy those earbuds. Though I loved the hooks, the problem was that after a while, the hooks weren't helping the earbuds stay in place because I sweat so much that the earpiece itself kept popping out. Not sure if that's a testament to my sweat or just that those weren't the best fit for me. Fast forward years later, now we have the Powerbeats 2, and I was absolutely excited to get my hands on these. I went with orange because black and white are overdone, and purple isn't my color really, but orange looked unique. After giving them a run through and wearing them around for a couple hours, here's just a non-sound professional "every-man" review: 1. Packaging is nice. I mean, standard issue Beats with some Apple flair. Though these are wireless charging compatible, the fact that they don't include a USB C charging cable..,I mean, c'mon...what are we doing. Seriously? How do you not include a USB C cable for people who don't have a wireless charger? Psst, hey, Applebeats...not everyone is fully wireless with qi chargers. Some folks don't want it. Stop trying to make it a thing when there are plenty of people who still prefer cables. 2. The case feels nice ot the touch. Smooth, almost like...velvety. I don't know how else to put it, but I think it feels...nicer. I wish I knew how else to describe it. 3. Speaking of the case, the case is NOTICEABLY smaller in the hand. I mean, yeah, of course it's bigger than the AIrPod Pro/2 and all, but a Powerbeats case that isn't a cinderblock you may keep in your pocket? I dig it. 4. Also, the case itself opens REALLY easily. I've never had a case that opens as easily or as smoothly as this one does. Most cases require a little force to open, but this case literally feels like it GLIDES open. It's nice, but it also makes me worry that if I dropped the case, it may pop open easily as well. 5. The earhooks are noticeably tighter. I know there are a lot of reviewers on YouTube who say these are super soft and comfortable, but if I'm being honest (and I have no reason to lie about these), the earhooks did cause me a little discomfort after a couple of hours. The hooks wrap tightly enough around the ear, but at the same time, because of the clamping force against the back of your ear, the back part of the hook may end up getting a little sore because part of the hook keeps pressing hard against the back of your ear.. Maybe it's me, but some folks who may have more physically. sensitive ears may not like this for prolonged sessions. I also like how they don't stick out TOO far on the side. I prefer that my earbuds stay close to my head, almost flush if possible. These defintely do that. 6. The sound is standard Beats, but definitely improved. Nice bass, some mids, good (enough) trebles. As many YouTube reviewers have stated, you don't get these for the best in sound quality -- you get them because you need good headphones with decent sound that will stay on your ears, while also energizing you to get that next rep, while also playing nice within the Apple ecosystem. I found I actually enjoyed using the spatial audio on these because for earbuds as they sound remarkably clear (to me anyway). I'm a fan of spatial audio though, so take that for what it's worth. 7. The tactile controls are nice, though you may find you might accidentally press the button from time to time, especially if you are changing out the eartips. Not a major thing, but I do like the tactile butons a LOT better than the touch controls that leave you wondering if your buds even picked up your taps. Nah, if you like physical buttons, then these have 'em and they feel pretty satisfying when you click them. 8. I haven't really tried out the heart rate sensor yet because I'm a little wary of that kind of sensor in my ear. Personally, I don't see myself really caring for it, though I can see why some people do, especially folks who perhaps do a lot of cardiovascular work. Final thoughts: If you enjoyed the Powerbeats 1, and you like how Beats sound in terms of sound quality, then give these a whirl. You may like the hooks because they help keep the earbud better on the ear, despite some aforementioned soreness caused by the hook pressing against the back of your ear (does not happen to EVERYONE, but there are some out there for whom this is an issue, esp. in terms of comfort.). You may like the improved (imo) sound. You may even like how the case opens so smoothly and that they're Beats, which plays very nicely with the Apple Ecosystem. If those are compelling reasons to get these, then go for it. If you are a sound connoisseur/professional who is always looking for a reason to dislike Beats, then you'll probably find a reason or something to dislike these. You don't have to listen to me, but I'm just saying how I feel about these as an everyday gym-goer/headphone user, and I like these enough that I look forward to my next lift while rocking these! The reason I deducted 1 star, to be clear, is simply because of the soreness from the hooks. A lot of reviewers say that the hooks are really soft...they kind of are, kind of are not, but I haven't had them long enough to make a definitive statement whether or not this is an ongoing issue. This is just what I experienced, and others may not share the same experience. That said, hopefully this helps you decide! Cheers! (may update this review as time goes on) UPDATE: Just like the originals, if I make any kind of a facial expression or if I move my face muscles, then the earbud pops out. I don’t know what it is with these specific style of Powerbeats, but when I find that the left earbud wiggles itself out. Definitely a deal killer, and it’s a shame. I like the sound and I like the hooks (soreness aside). But I was doing bench press, and I found that the earbud just does not like to stay put.

Very happy with these for sports and physical activities. They don’t slip off, the sound quality is top notch, toggling between sound modes is easy, they charge quickly while holding a charge for a long time, and the microphone is clear with amazing noise cancellation for listeners. Only imperfection would be some discomfort after wearing them for long periods of time, but that goes for any earbuds for me and is probably a good sign to take a connectivity break.

Bought these for the over the ear piece, which allows extra peace of mind when I’m out biking. I bike FAST, and as such, the noice cancelling isn’t especially effective when I’m doing outside activities, but when I’m living a normal home life, doing chores or taking out the garbage, the noise cancelling gets the job done. Value for money, ease of use, quality, etc, are all relative, but for me, they were a great investment. I love the battery life as well. Great compatibility with my iPhone, and I just used them for an hour long conversation with my mother with no complaints.

I’ve had the older version of these for a couple years. Upgrading to these with the hope that the noise cancelling was more effective was somewhat disappointing. First of all, you have to be wearing both to enable the “noise cancelling” feature. It does dampen outside noise but certainly does not cancel out noise. You’ll still hear that screaming baby on the plane, but it helps. It has a feature to check the fit of the size ear tips you used for optimal sealing, but that’s about it. I do like both the voice and music sound quality, as both are a significant upgrade to the old version. Are they worth the price? I’d say only if you like how well they transition to Apple products, like your iPad and iPhone and the comfort with the ear hook. They are lighter. When adjusting the fit, you often hit the button that stops or pauses audio which is annoying. Overall, I’m glad I bought them, but they could improve the noise cancelling so it really does shut out most sound. Also, another follow-up: they seem to drop the Bluetooth signal often between my iPad and iPhone. Not sure what is going on and if other open windows' audio is interfering with my preferred listening channel. This is VERY annoying but will continue to try to investigate.

Je les adore. Il faut un peu de pratique pour bien les mettre en place mais après cela, ils sont super. Ne tombent pas vu le tour d'oreille. Le blocage des sons extérieurs est exceptionnel. Le son n'est pas aussi bon que Bose mais tout de même excellent. Très confortables.

I recently returned apple ear pods as I found them extremely uncomfortable. I've had the beats headset style for years and love so thought id try the new Pro 2 version as I wanted something smaller for travel. First of all, I cannot say enough about this amazing orange color, it's so nice. They come with 5 tips and the small option fits great so far. I'm not getting discomfort or the feeling that something foreign is in my ear. Sound is what you'd expect from beats- great base. The one thing with beats (both mine are the noise cancelling) I find people around you can hear the music. I also find the buttons much easier to use compared to the apple pods. I would suggesting playing around with the tips for the right fit, you won't get noise cancelling without a good fit, I see some negative reviews on this and is was my initial thought too but then changed the tips and much better. My SO is a tech guy and he is really impressed with the quality. This is my first day with them and I know they were just released. Will update my review after more use. Although they are expensive, so far I'm much happier with these than the apples ones I had purchased and would recommend.

Love these for working out! Had issues with the AirPods Pro 2 falling out of my ears during core workouts on my back and intense boxing rounds on the bag, so the over the ear hooks are awesome for locking things down. Living in the Apple ecosystem - these headphones switch seamlessly between my MacBook, iPad and iPhone depending on what I'm listening on and also work with a PC laptop for work (although I use them less often). These don't move on my head in any activity, and after a few days of getting used to putting them on they're easy to use. I was a little apprehensive or using the for daily use since I wear glasses, but had no issues with them rubbing or sitting in place. The sound quality is great (more balanced than any previous Beats headphones I've used) for streamed music, videos, general content. The only reason these aren't 5 stars are: a) Active Noise Cancellation isn't as strong as the AirPods Pro 2 - when on transit or in loud environments the ANC was a few tiers lower and more of the variable environmental noise makes it through. b) The lack of Adaptive Mode - compared to AirPods Pro 2 (even though they both have the H2 chip) - they do not feature the conversation awareness which was great for lowering the ANC when speaking or being spoken to.

You have to try a range of the silicone tips to get a good fit. Use the Apple Ear Tip Fit Test (go in via Bluetooth and scroll down to find the test) to see which size is best and to make sure the silicone tips are inserted properly. Makes a huge difference! My ears are small and so I tried the earbuds that came with and the two smallest sizes. The sound was tinny and I was about to return them with much disappointment. In desperation, on my treadmill, watching a show with scratchy sound, I put in the large silicone tips and yes, just yes. The sound is very good. The Apple Ear Tip Fit Test verified that this is the best size for me to get a good seal. And as I de-layer during workouts, they stay in my ears! Winter hats are another one where an AirPod will get stuck in my hair or fall on the ground. These are perfect.

way over priced. ANC does not work at all can hear everything as if its not even on. extra ear cups are not effective, ear hooks seem to made for designers ear and are not movable. great they hook on the ear but pointless if they just pop out just by looking left or right.. I have had $50 ear buds the same type with better fit and more effective noise reduction... such a let down for $300+ buds. at least they were on sale. cant return..
