Great little thing, I'm trying to use my phone less. However, I would love to be able to use patreon on it, I can't tell if you can add apps or not. It does move slowly but I feel like that's good

Alrighty, I know that this product is not targeted for me, an adult. I saw reviews about this being a decent player and it is. It plays all of my media and is nice in quality. Like I said in the title, I love the colors, it's great eye candy. The interface itself is child-safe and is very intuitive. If you don't have a huge catalog of music to play, the storage capacity it has is good enough. It is nice and small, compact but has the right amount of heft to it. The buttons and the capacitive buttons work really well. The downside: You cannot sideload APKs, you are locked in to what it comes with. It is android 9, which locks you out of the majority of playstore apps out there. Overall, aside from my complaints from the software side, this is a great music player for your kids. Do not expect it to be even a little bit customizable like I thought it would be, you would be disappointed. Stick close to the expectation that this is a child-friendly music player and you will be more than pleased with it's capability.

Haven’t even had it for 3 months and it’s completely dead. Can’t charge it, can’t restart it. I feel bad because my son used his own money that he saved to purchase it. So disappointing.

Yes, you can set time limits OR you can set hours when the device can be used. You cannot for example set it to be unlocked from 7 am - 9 pm and only allow a maximum of 3 total hours use. So, you can set a 3 hours limit (again, example), but not control if they are using the 3 hours in the middle of the night. Also, the Chrome app is wide open. You can turn on "safe browsing", but most parents know that does very little to actually limit access to inappropriate sites. You cannot block specific sites. So, you may want to complete remove the Chrome app. At face value, yes there are "parental controls" but if you want to do anything more than the basic protections it is weak. As an MP3 player, it does fine. The battery life is good. It is lightweight. But since this is marketed as a Kids MP3 player with parental controls I have dropped my rating to 3 stars.

First one stopped working within about a week. To the point it would start booting up, get half way through then the screen would look corrupted and it would not turn on again unless you unplugged and re-plugged the power cord. Got it replaced under warranty with a new one. The second one died about two months later where it will also not turn on anymore. It's a shame because it has some solid parental controls and quick responsiveness.

I love this thing. I wanted something for my kid to play audiobooks on that he could select for himself without needing me to navigate for him. To that end it works well. The OS is snappy, and for it's built in apps it has enough power to do whatever you need. It also has a great battery life, dropping to about 50% after 5-6 hours of use, mostly using its speaker. The only real drawback is that it only uses the installed apps, and there is no way to load more. This is an issue because- 1. it only comes with Spotify Kids, so I'll have to make my kid a new "kids" account instead of having them use their normal account with all of their playlists and podcasts already on it. 2. The built in music player is not ideal for audiobooks. While it does have an audiobook section of the app, which is great since files loaded in there at least it saves your place, this functionality is pretty limited. I have to add all the audio files for an audiobook one by one into it, which isn't too bad, except that even after that it does not group them by book, even though each book is in its own self-named folder. Instead it's just a long list of tracks which can be figured out by author or album sorting, but it's still messy. An older kid with some tech savviness can manage this 8+, but definitely not a younger kid. Overall a great product that just has a few limitations that keep it from being perfect.

This is one amazing tablet! It is full of fun and educational things for the kids. It’s a great first tablet to give to them. It teaches responsibility plus keeps them busy and keep them from bothering me, which is the most important.

It's a great idea in theory. My toddler is always wanting my phone for spotify so I was so happy to buy this for her. However, it's insanely glitchy and even my 2 year old could tell and was constantly saying "Uh-Oh."
