It works, convenient display on board - don't use Adafruit GFX, SSD1306 libs
Follow the example on the pictures, that's really all the documentation you'll get but it works. I tried using the more widely known Adafruit's libraries for these type of displays via I2C but the address is not found and it won't work (0x3C). The suggested library (u8g2) works as it defines the clock and data pins. I would buy again just for the convenience of not having to deal with 4 extra pins and cables.

It works
Review of Ideaspark 8266 12E Tried using usb power. Pins were spread 2mm too wide. Had to bend them in to fit protoboard. NODEMCU 1.0 (ESP-12E) selected as board. Didn't work at first (" error: D6 not defined"). Reselected board on Arduino IDE and then it worked. Pings ok boot output gibberish. When using Serial.print it works fine at 115200 Wifi works Server works. Flood light pin works. HTML works. Haven't tried it using external 5v power yet. Couldn't find tutorial or any information. Board is not listed on Arduino IDE board choices.

Great Product
Really liked these boards and they were easy to use. A few hiccups along the way, but a really great cheap alternative.

Great board works well
The esp8266 is great. I was able to get it loading examples pretty easily following the instructions. It was a little challenging to get the display to work due of lack of documentation. Using the Arduino IDE and the U8G2 library with the following works: U8G2_SSD1306_128X64_NONAME_F_SW_I2C u8g2(U8G2_R0, /* clock=*/ 14, /* data=*/ 12, /* reset=*/ U8X8_PIN_NONE); Use any of the u8g2 examples. Of course had to put two breadboards together, breaking off one power side strip to breadboard it, but that was expected.

Shipped in a crushed plastic box. Boards were everywhere. MANY bent pins
All three boards got smashed. MANY bent pins on all boards. Shipping on this item was a joke. Took me a minute to figure out what the plastic box was for, as it was crushed on all sides. Hinges on the box broken off, surprised the boards didn't stay inside it as it was taped shut. But they were everywhere. All three boards appear to be working however. I will update this review if I find any of these boards are in fact damaged. Tricky to get working, I followed the instructions in the item description. If you use up-to-date drivers and software, they will not work. If you downgrade to the versions of the software mentioned in the items description, they do work. You must pay close attention to the versions that are listed in the description. Probably should have just bought the ESP32 instead but these will work for my needs. Thanks, work on your shipping methods please.
