These new disc "Look" like standard DVD/Blu-Rays, but hold a TREMENDOUS amount of data (from the standard DVD/Blu-Ray, that is). -- In fact, the BDXL's presently listed here (on Amazon), made by Verbatim, have a capacity of 100GB (Wow!, is right) - you can store (and Back-Up) a TON of data on these! (PS/BTW - the only drawback presently is that they are EXTREMELY expensive!! at present $20 bucks, PER disc!!) But overall the value of these new disks is NOT just in the large capacity, but in the new "tech" called M-DISC that allows you to stably & safety store your data for VERY LONG extended periods of time - with claims up to 100 YEARS (Wow! Is right). (But who is going to be around still to test and confirm this?!?, Right?!?)
