Easy, fast, and cost effective way to repair a broken rear defroster connection.
Normally I don't leave reviews, but this product worked awesome. I have a 2014 Jeep Wrangler and the rear defrost cable is attached to the back window by a small metal button. The button can become detached breaking the rear defrost. It can't just be glued back because the button is conductive. I tried a silver impregnated epoxy, but it has to be mixed a certain ratio or it won't stick and it has to be heated to a certain temperature for a certain time. It held for about a year and came off. I asked at different glass places, but they only replace the entire nine hundred dollar window, they don't just fix the button. Someone suggested Solder-It as it is a metal solder and has silver in it so is conductive. I cleaned the attachment point and button, put enough Solder-it to cover the back of the button, stuck it to the glass. Then took my small pencil torch, and while holding against the glass with the drill bit so I didn't burn my fingers and heated up the button to melt the solder. It took a matter of seconds and it was melted all the way around. I held it with the drill bit while the glass cooled. I'm happy to say it is stuck tight. I was also able to test it in last nights snow storm and the rear defrost worked like normal. Didn't have to futz with mixing or heating at a certain temp for a certain time. I'm all repaired for the cost of the Solder-it. Which beats a $900 rear glass replacement. Hopefully it will last. There was enough left over to do it again or if the other side comes off. Super happy with the purchase.

Amazing product
I have used this in the past and it works well. I keep a tube of it in my boat toolbox for emergency repairs or any wiring upgrades I perform. It a great product that is very easy to use that’s why I bought more.

It works without a fuss
It actually works as stated. The soldered joint is super strong and is silver. I read all the other reviews where some complained about low quantity. The two that I purchased did not have that problem. After use it is a good practice to store the tip in an upright position.

Practically an empty tube of product
A waste of money. Virtually no product at all inside the tube. Glad, I kept the packaging cause it's going back!

You'll need a heat source
Heads up. This is solder not glue. You'll still need heat to use it.

Not enough product in the tube to be helpful
I first want to say, I really like using this product. It’s a great way to solder and it’s rock solid without using traditional solder. CONS: the tube is about 4” long. You would expect the entire cylinder to be filled with the product. I’ve purchased 2 of these and both have very little product inside the tube. When opened, you have to compress the plunger almost all the way down, to get a small amount of solder/material to come out. I would expect to receive a full tube of product and the product to come out with a slight press of the plunger. With the small amount that is actually in the tube, the value of this product is fair at best. It’s much more economical to buy a spool of regular solder than to use this. If you have bigger soldering projects, you probably should pass on this product. Great idea, it works well but not enough to be helpful for any medium soldering needs.

Excellent product
This is an awesome product, I would recommend using a small butane torch for small welds. It is very strong and easy to work with.
