Excellent CrockPot, I do recommend!
Excellent Crock Pot. Works Great and has plenty of room... My 7 Quart unit was just a little too small for when I make Pinto Beans... The Extra Quart makes all the difference and it works great. Very efficient, and I would highly recommend. Fits will in the Dishwasher for easy cleaning. Price is great and holds the heat in well. I think this unit will last quite a long time.

Works well, just like a Crock Pot should
Admittedly I am a Crock Pot snob. Let me explain. I love the old, original Crock Pots. I have actually burned out two, my husband pulled one off the counter and broke it, and I now have 3 of them in my pantry. One of those was bought in an antique shop, in the original box and packaging never having been used. But when wanting to make a large batch or spaghetti, chili, or whole chicken one was just not large enough. Enter a different brand 6qt slow cooker. After only about two years the writing was worn off of the dial, the metal portion was stained beyond belief, and the dial itself was rickety. It was unreliable often over heating and boiling when it should not have been. So, when Prime Day came around and I discovered the 8qt Crock Pot brand slow cooker it was love and first sight. Generally, I am not fond of the newer removable ceramic cookers for several reasons. It is too easy to damage or break the ceramic removable pot, the cords are way too short, but primarily because there is no insulation whatsoever; just brushing up against the cooker can quickly burn. When bustling around the kitchen that can happen all too easily, but I understand that is the way they are made these days; grin and bear it I will. Even though it is touted to make clean up easier, I am not sure that is the case with any removable pot. When the new 8qt beauty arrived, despite the removable ceramic pot, it was quite large and very nice. After washing it and of course reading the booklet (sans cookbook which was noted in the description) I plugged it in and began experimenting. It was very simple to master and actually quite impressive. There are 3 heat choices and when programmed for cook time, it automatically switches to warm when that time has elapsed which I found reassuring; it can be programmed for up to 20 hours. It appeared to cook low on low and then high on high as it should. I have already used it 3 times. First it cooked an 8lb pork shoulder to perfection. Next 16 chicken thighs were used in a recipe my son calls, "Mississippi Mud Chicken," which he got from a local fireman. Lastly, just on a whim, I wondered how boiled peanuts would fare in the slow cooker. Half of the peanuts were boiled on the stove the traditional way and the other half were cooked in the Crock Pot on high for between 6-8 hours both pots at a slow boil. As it turns out, both were done at the same time and tasted exactly the same-texture, flavor and all. According to the description, this slow cooker can prepare enough food for up to 10 people, so no more multiple crock pots for get togethers. Despite no insulation, this programmable, stainless steel Crock Pot is going to be well used and well loved. Top 3 Likes: -Quality construction that is sturdy and solid enabling cooking to occur exactly as it should and as is programmed -When cooking time has elapsed it automatically converts to warm mode -Digital programming is easy to perform, distinct, well lit, with easily visible numbers Top 3 Dislikes: -The ceramic insert is quite heavy -Arthritic hands may need help -Bits of residue need to be scrubbed out of the ceramic insert after use

Easy to use crock pot
This Crock Pot is perfect for feeding a crowd or handling big batch meals with ease. The generous capacity easily fits large roasts, soups, or enough chili for gatherings and leftovers. I really like the programmable controls, which let me set the cook time and automatically switch to warm when finished. It heats evenly and delivers tender, flavorful results every time without scorching. The stoneware insert cleans up easily and is simple to lift out for serving. Overall, it’s a dependable, user friendly slow cooker that performs well.

Perfect Meats Every Time
This is my first Crock-Pot ever, and I am loving it. I have already used it to make BBQ Chicken, Beef Roast, Country Style Ribs, Chicken & Rice, and a full 9lb Turkey. It cooks the most tender and juicy meats and veggies every time. Makes our kitchen smell absolutely wonderful producing intoxicating aromas. I love the fact it has a timer and will cut off on it's own so you never have to worry about overcooking. It's only shortcoming is that there are no latches to lock down the lid, so it sometimes rattles as steam escapes; also makes it difficult to transport if carrying your creation to a different location.

Easy to use
I used this the first day I had it. It's very easy to use & cooked up a 3# pot roast & vegetables wonderfully. I had it on for 8 hours then on warm. The meat fell apart. It's easy to clean.

A bit disappointed in this 8-Quart Crock-Pot.
I have had slow cookers for years. However, I have never actually owned a Crock-Pot until I purchased this one in February 2024. I bought it for 2 reasons. First, the base unit of my previous slow cooker was starting to warp (after many years of use), and that led to slower cooking. Second, I wanted a larger slow cooker, 8 or more quarts in size. Overall, I am not happy with this Crock-Pot. Even when I'm making 7 to 7.5 quarts of soup or chili, the LOW setting ends up boiling (i.e., bubbles) the soup or chili. This suggests to me that the LOW setting is well above 200 degrees and that should not be the case. Please know that I have made some delicious meals in this Crock-Pot, but I have to regularly check the internal temperature and sometimes turn the pot to WARM, for 30-60 minutes to slow the cooking. This is the reason why I am looking for a new slow cooker and will probably just throw this one away.

Our daughter was always borrowing our old crock pot... so we went and bought the digital version of the crock pot and gifted our old unit to her. It works great. Only one thing odd about the new crock pot is that the glass cover doesn't tend to cover the top of the unit as well as the glass cover on the old crock pot. It almost seems like the cover was from a smaller version of our crock pot... but it works and does the job. On receipt the plastic handle on the top glass cover was broken... we contacted the company immediately and sadly they didn't have spare handles to repair this obvious warranty type item. They suggested that we either send the entire unit back to Amazon or for us to go and simply buy a new handle on Amazon - which is what we did... we paid 9 bucks to get a new handle the next day via Amazon. Fortunately the quality of the aftermarket handle is better then the flimsy plastic handle that came originally on the crock pot. All said and done... we love this crock pot.
