We recently purchased a home with a metal building shop that is about 150’ from the house. Inside the shop, cell phone signal is non existent. I tried adding a mesh router in the shop but the metal building killed the reception from my base router. I found the previous owner of the house had buried coax from the house to the shop at some time in the past. It was coiled up in the crawl space of the house and looked like it was long forgotten. I purchased the Asus 2.5 GB ethernet over coax kit and thought I would give it a try. I installed one box on the house side of the coax and the other on the shop side of the coax. I then ran network CAT 6 cable from the box to my main router and connected another router to the box in the shop. I set up the router in the shop as a wired mesh node (Ethernet Backhaul) and the system works perfectly. I no longer miss calls with WiFi calling enabled on my phone. Internet at speeds are great. I stream ball games to a TV in the shop. Very satisfied with this product from Asus. Inexpensively solved my issue.

Brilliant kit. Took a week to deliver. Low power usage and only needing a US to UK plug adapter. Runs through the Ariel cable in the walls that are unused. As you can see below. Before and after with the test results. Really simple to install and setup. Great for WiFi backhaul etc or simply extending your network where Ethernet isn’t viable. Can also add splitters to extend to other areas of the home. Simply connect one to your router & Ariel point (mine was my living room). Then one the other end of that line where you want it to reach (mine was my bedroom) with another unit on that sides Ariel connection. And repeat if you have other Ariel drops. Mine ran from the living room up into the attic with a splitter connecting the cables there then down into my main bedroom. So as long as the cables connected point a>b your all good. Have had 0 range problems or drop outs. Helping me max my connection upstairs. Well worth the money for what it does. And much cheaper than trying to run cables. As said mileage may vary between users. With the quality of your coax cable. My home was under 5 year old so relatively new. Can add maybe 4/5ms of ping due to the change over of “technology” but as seen on the results it’s still relatively low.

I purchased the MoCA adapters because of some huge loss of speed throughout my Mesh network. I have FRONTIER 2Gb/2Gb which is actually 2.38Gbps up and down. However, aside from my main gateway, the speed degrades significantly in many rooms throughout my 2 story house. ( I have Eero Pro 6E as main gateway provided by ISP and 3 more Eero Pro 6 throughout my house ). One of the rooms where I have my son’s gaming PC and some other equipment had one access point (Eero Pro 6) connected to a gigabit switch and the speed out of the switch (wired) was only 300 mbps on a good day and typically 200mbps (that’s close to 90% speed loss). I felt my money was wasted since I was actually using a fraction of my allocated bandwidth. I started with one pair of MoCA adapters the main one near my main router and the second in the aforementioned room. The speed out of the second MoCA adapter was found to be 2.2 gbps! So barely any speed loss. I added a couple more adapters, one next to each access point this way I am doing a wired backhaul through the mesh network. Wired speeds are awesome. Of course they are limited with network adapters which are occasionally capped at 1 gbps. Wireless speeds jumped from an average of 500mbps to anywhere between 700mbps to 1200mbps. Extremely satisfied. My theory is an average mesh + MoCA adapters will cost the same or maybe less than a premium Mesh but will have much better speeds overall.

I wanted to create a home network but installing ethernet cables from my living room into the loft space was going to be expensive. I came across this technology by accident and I realised that the house had 3 coax cables pre-installed for ariel tv and satellite dishes that we never used. I now have very near my full 500Mbs from the living room into a splitter in the loft and down 15m patch cables dropping into my home office. Brilliant equipment, it's a shame it's not more easily available in the UK.
