Review: Excellent quality....nice option. - Nice construction.....a quality unit that should have a good shelf life. I bought this to off-set a standard unit that uses powder and subsequent clean up if ever used. This is good for kitchen or garage fires where the dry chemicals in a ABC extinguisher can create a mess. If mounted inside a house, be aware, it will be harder to do so if space is a concern. It is a little bigger than a standard 5 lb. ABC size powder unit. Being bought through a desertcart vender, they do not pack it for shipping with a over pack box. It came in the original manufacturers box, that had a hole in it, with no padding. No internal padding around the handle was provided either. Luckily no damage to the handle or pressure valve occurred during transit.

Getting it recharged by a local industrial fire protection business today. It protected my home and put the fire out quickly and efficiently without damaging my cutter at all. I am very grateful to have had it nearby and am buying another. Worth the money and easy to lift for a small person at only 5lbs very easy to use. I would recommend this to everyone.

**Q: Where do you find the manufactures date on the CO2 fire extinguisher?**
A: Carbon dioxide fire extinguishers use DOT certified pressure cylinders.  The month and date are stamped near the neck of the cylinder and the extinguisher needs to be hydrostatically tested every five years or if it is used.  The extinguisher should be weighed annually for certification per OSHA requirements.  The gross (full with valve) and possibly tare (empty without valve) weight is also stamped on the neck, so if you use this for home use and have an accurate scale, you can check to see if and how much CO2 has leaked out.  It is still recommended to have the extinguisher inspected annually, however.

**Q: can this be mounted or stored horizontally? thank you**
A: Depends on what you are mounting it to, a boat or motor vehicle ? May require a vehicle mounting bracket.Inside a building it should be stored in the vertical position - see N.F.P.A. standard 10 for more information.
