Men's Weekender 40mm Watch

General Forward About My Timex Opinions: Let me begin by saying that I'm somewhat infatuated with Timex, yet a realist that's hopefully not biased. I scolded Timex, through their customer service, for not putting out products with better quality control, as read in various Amazon reviews, and falling behind in their reputation as a well built watch as I remember from my early childhood; I'm now 51 years old. As for my experience, though, I've had GREAT luck with the current Timex watches in my collection. I give 2 thumbs up to their current design team. Specific Product Review: I'm somewhat driven to collect each and every watch in their Weekender 40mm, Weekender Chrono, and Fairfield lines. I admire the retro, minimalist flair that Timex has been pushing. It's a great watch for the price, too. The Timex Indiglo is fantastic. This Weekender and my Weekender Fairfield both have a slight shadow at the bottom when the Indiglo is engaged. That's not a problem to me as I've come to realize it's not a defect. As for the ticking sound... I love it!!! It tells me that it's a watch. It's louder than my other Weekender Fairfield but slightly quieter than the Weekender 38mm. The 40mm face speaks class, simple and elegant. The Weekender 40mm is just the right size. I stay away from the 38mm Weekender since it's too small and feminine on my wrist. The leather band seems at first too thin but it's actually VERY nice and attractive. If the band ever wears out, I'll just put on a NATO.... notice photos. As to accuracy, this Timex seems to be (+/-) 1-2 seconds off per week. I like quartz movements for their accuracy. I only ask for Timex to bring back an American made watch that's constructed to be passed down to my children; I'll gladly pay extra for Timex to get back up to Seiko or Citizen reputation. I'd love to see all stainless steel and Sapphire Crystal glass. I think Timex has a great watch for the price. I'm behind these watches 100%. Go Timex!!!!!

This is my everyday watch. It isn't super fancy but it doesn't look cheap and it does the job. I am in places every day that don't have clocks and where it would not be proper to check the clock on my phone, so I need a watch. This one fits the deal.

Overall, I am very happy with this watch. It is definitely the most comfortable watch that I own. I have only had the watch for a week, but I will give the pros and cons that I have noticed to this point. Pro(s): Comfort - This watch is so comfortable you can forget you are wearing it. The band bends and flexes with your wrist so it doesn't bind or "grab" your hair. It is very light which is a plus for me. Appearance - It looks great. Dressy enough to wear to work, casual enough to wear with shorts and a t-shirt. The diameter of the watch is perfect, in my opinion. After a week I am still taken by surprise with how well the face is designed and how remarkably easy it is to read. The color of the band compliments the watch case/face perfectly. Function - This intertwines with appearance, but the function of the watch is phenomenal due to the excellent design. Setting the time is easy and clean. The crown is not so big as to dig into your hand when you bend it back. Cons: The Band - This has been mentioned by several other reviewers but is worth mentioning. It is paper thin. It may surprise me and hold up longer than 6 months to a year, but I would be surprised. It is handsome in appearance. No date indicator - I know that The Weekender series does not include a date indicator but this would be the perfect watch for me if it did. Overall: Buy it. I think you will be underwhelmed by the band as others have been but won over by the simplistic yet phenomenal design. UPDATE: After almost 5 years the band has held up just fine. Still one of my favorite watches.

I absolutely love this watch. Am a little watch-obsessed but in this crazy world of tech, it takes me to a simpler time. It’s clear, easy to read, super light and comfortable and I own 2 of them. How could you not with the price point? Truly an excellent buy. I put my smartwatch away and am going to unplug for awhile. Love this watch for the simplicity and wouldn’t it be nice to have a little more simple in our lives right now? Buy it.

I absolutely love this watch. I had my eyes on the original Weekenders with the 38mm case and when I finally got to try one on it looked a little too small on my wrist. I've found that watches below 40mm seem too small-looking for me in general. Two millimeters may not sound like much but when it comes to watch cases it can make a difference. Sure enough, when this one arrived I tried it on immediately and was thrilled to see that it was much more appropriately sized. I'd planned on changing the strap from the start but when I tried it on, the leather felt soft and comfortable even if it was a little on the thin side. That said, I think the thin leather actually suits this watch and even though I've purchased several additional straps, I plan on using the original leather one as well. Finally, on to what seems to be the most common complaint. It seems the ticking noise that comes from this watch is driving some people mad. The ticking is audible when things are quiet but it's not earth-shattering. I think the issue is that for those that have a heard time tuning out noise, it can be heard to "unhear" the watch once you've heard it. This really shouldn't stop you from buying it though. Put it in a drawer at night if it's that bothersome. The watch is so stylish and so well-priced, buying it (at least for me) was a no-brainer.

Good looking watch with good illumination to see the time in dark areas. Wasn’t a fan of the original strap so I changed it.

I love this watch, and this is the 3rd one I've bought. However, I was very disappointed in the quality of the band. The last time I bought this the band was leather and lasted 2 years of hard use. This band is most assuredly not leather. I had to super glue the layers together the very first time I wore it. The watch itself works great, but it is worthless without a good band.

This watch is fun and delivers style with function. I was looking for a classic no frills analog watch at a good price and the Timex Weekender delivers. I purchased this watch along with another, slightly smaller, Weekender style in a different color. I love the slightly larger face on this watch, it's a nice change of pace from the other Timex I purchased. The watch looks great, it's a simple, classic style. I read several negative comments in other reviews about the quality of the band, but for me it's fine. I mean it's not a band that's going to last 5 years, but for the price of the watch and the multitude of low cost replacement bands available, it's more than adequate. The other issue mentioned frequently about this, as well as all Timex watches, is the sound level of the ticking. If you hold it close to your ear you can definitely hear it, but I don't hear it while I'm wearing it and I don't hear it a night, even though I keep it in a tray on my dresser. If I had it on my nightstand next to my bed I suppose I might hear it, but from across my bedroom I don't hear a thing. For a low price this watch delivers great style and keeps great time. It's exactly what I was hoping for when I purchased it.

Diese Uhr von Timex hat ein gutes Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis. Das Quarz-Uhrwerk geht ziemlich genau und sie sieht gut aus. Ein Wehrmutstropfen ist leider das sehr laute Ticken, das ich als störend empfinde, wenn ich nicht draußen unter Leuten bin, daher trage ich die Uhr zu Hause überhaupt nicht. Das sollte man vor dem Kauf wissen. Wen das nicht stört, dem kann ich diese Uhr weiterempfehlen.

Love the classic watch design. Very legible face and the Indiglo backlight is a great feature. The brown leather strap it comes on is quite cheap, but I bought this watch with the intention of wearing it on a variety of straps. This watch is a great versatile option for new watch enthusiasts to mess around with styling. I currently have it on a tan leather strap and it looks great. Yes, the movement is relatively loud so bear that in mind. You will hear it on your wrist in a quiet room. I, however find this aspect rather charming and therapeutic when I am falling asleep. If this is something that could possibly drive you insane, either steer clear or just keep it away from your bedside.
