Wok Mei Gluten Free Hoisin Sauce, 8 Oz.

This sauce works extremely well in cooking. I've used it in stir-fry, and my dishes turned out great. I mainly bought this brand for the much lower sodium content per serving; the price is also reasonable, so I was glad it had a good flavor to it. The sodium content, which is one thing I have to watch closely, is listed wrong in the product's description. It's actually 200 mg, not 180 per serving. I know that may seem trivial to most people, but a lot of people, myself included, have very strict dietary restrictions for multiple reasons, but thankfully it wasn't a deal breaker for my recipes. That was my only issue with the product.

I've only used a little Wok Mei Gluten Free Hoisin Sauce since it arrived (exactly when promised) but it was great in my recipe. I'm just starting to experiment with Pacific Rim food and there are a couple of simple recipes that call for Hoisin sauce. However, I've found it listed in the ingredients of other exotic (to me) recipes so will be using more. When it comes time to reorder I will be using the Wok Mei sauce.

I bought this hoisin sauce because it is gluten free. It's good, but it has a strong 5-spice powder flavor compared to the hoisin sauce I've eaten before (and I've been eating it for 30+ years). I'd likely enjoy this even more if there were a little less 5-spice powder in it. Given the challenges of finding GF hoisin sauce, I'm happy to have this and have bought it repeatedly.

I am so grateful to be able to make gluten free dishes that taste like the Asian restaurant food I can no longer eat because of wheat. Delicious!

I was craving some fresh summer rolls and needed hoisin sauce that was gluten free to make my peanut dipping. I couldn't find it at Whole Foods in NYC of all places! So I ordered it, thinking, "Geez, what a waste... I never use Hoisin sauce in anything else." But my gosh! It does taste good on almost anything! Rice, veggies, salad dressing, soups...etc. Best of all, because it is natural, it doesn't have that fake after taste that I was so used to growing up!

The ingredients speak for themselves! As with anything "food related"... the ingredients have so much to do with the quality of the product. You won't find any High Fructose Corn Syrup in this Hoisin Sauce! (Or any other kind of "Syrup"). It is *almost* an organic product... even has NON-GMO Corn Starch in it! It tastes amazing and is safe to use. You will love it. Buy some.

I added it to some vegs and tofu, along with apple juice and lemon. It made a tasty stir fry.
