Too small for birds, I absolutely disagree with keeping birds in cages especially ones like this. They should at least be in an aviary however I bought this as a hospital cage for rats and it's fantastic, good if you don't have lots of space and easy to clean. To modify it for rodent use I have taken out the wire bottom which would cause bumble foot, and taped the pull out tray in place. I also clipped the food doors shut and put the food bowls to recycle as they have a sharp edge to them. Arrived safe no assembly instructions though (it's easy enough to put together!) My rat is recovering well and enjoying the extra space as originally she was having to be in a cat carrying box. Great price too as I shopped around looking at many cages before choosing this one. Since we let him fly around the ground floor a a fair bit every day he doesn't need a big Cage. I imagine if ones Bird is a hermit then this cage might be a bit on the Small side for a Larger species such as a Cockatiel or Small Parrot. Fine for Budgies and Canarys. Quite a decent cage, seems robust enough and everything works as it should. Easy to clean the plastic floor. Easy access with front door and Drawbridge with supports, and a Top opening with perch.
