Great headsets for work
These are awesome, I’ve bought them for everyone in my office, they are great headsets and I like that they don’t cover your ear. The sound quality is really good and they cancel out noise. They are comfortable to use all day. They can get a full charge in about 10-15 minutes. I like that I can use them for work and can also connect them to my phone. The only thing i wish they did is that I could answer phone calls from my computer using the “answer button” they said it is a feature that may be available in the future. I highly recommend these.

Awesome headset!
This headset is fantastic! The fit is great and is very comfortable. The sound quality and functionality is amazing. It is very light weight and super easy to use. It comes with a nice carrying case and the price point is the best part. I would definitely recommend.

a faithful companion :'(
i've had these boys since feburary and i gotta say: they are pretty dang good for their niche. audio quality: the mids are a bit heavy but not as much as you'd expect. the highs are there and the bass literally vibrates against your head lol it feels very weird at first. they also have enough volume to drown out any sound from around you without distorting at all which is pretty nice. you can tell they're kinda optimized for voice which makes sense. the soundstage is very weird with these because it sounds like if there's a overhead sound system but everywhere? if you put plug your ears with even your fingers in it really makes the whole spectrum fill out which is interesting. earplugs add a surprising amount of depth! they're still not winning any awards for their quality but they are passably good enough. you don't buy these for epic fidelity. i do think if the transducers were bigger like shokz's other models they would prob have different sound quality but i haven't sampled any of them. i work IT in a manufacturing company where company policy is only open headphones or bone conduction on the floor. these allow you to hear people, forklifts, cranes or whathaveyou and still have a solid phone call or listen to music while walking. maintaining situational awareness is a very important thing with heavy industry going on around you BUT ALSO not compromising too bad on the sound quality no matter what's going on around you. that's what you buy these for. they are better than any in-ear headphone for that even if they have an audio passthrough mode because they don't block your ears at all. mic quality is SUPERB. it doesn't matter where you are on the factory floor this thing will WORK. it's bluetooth so it's always gonna be slightly crunchy but this thing picks up your voice perfectly even against heavy background noise. it's really nice to be able to take and make calls no matter where you are in the company. it makes it very nice to be on the phone with someone while you're running and tracing cables or adjusting cameras. battery life: SUPERB. these things can last a week ish on and off usage, they use very little power if you're not in a call or listening to anything. the fit: COMFY. you can wear these all day long and they hold onto your head no matter what you're doing. i have basically worn these every day since i got them. i have long hair and they are very agreeable whether my hair is up or down. the boom doesn't even stick out crazy far so they kinda disappear in my hair lol the range: certified good enough. sometimes surprising how much it can go thru but not like crazy long range or anything. the only feature i really wish these had was 2 device pairing. it would be super nice to pair these to both my phone and my desktop. onboard EQ would also be nice but not a super big deal i think. sadly i come to report that i dropped them last friday after a long week of networking a new shop and stepped on them 😭 i found them buried in the snow at lunch. pro tip: don't step on them with steel toe boots lol i got another pair tho. they are an indispensable tool!!!!

Pretty Good Headset for Work
This is a great headset to use for digital phones (such as phones through your computer). My company's phone system is through Zoom. I also use this headset for web meetings, online training courses, webinars, and phone calls. I use this headset heavily and for multiple hours each work day. . . sometimes for a full 8+ hours. Pros: Charges very fast Battery life is good and lasts for 8+ hours of use Lightweight on the head (forget it's on) Open ear design means I don't have to take my headset off when not using it. I leave it on all day. Sound is pretty good for calls and web meetings, etc. Others have verified the sounds is good on their end, too. Noise cancelling works pretty well. Cons: Sometimes my temples get sore just from the headset sitting there over long periods of time (The headset gently 'squeezes' your head to stay on) The audio is good. . . but not as good as my personal AfterShokz headset that I use for running / working out even though it was more expensive. Sometimes the audio volume level seems to be inconsistent. Sometimes when I turn on the headset, the volume on my phone is way too low or way too high and I seem to have to adjust the volume pretty frequently. I have not yet used this headset via bluetooth with my computer of phone. It does have multi-pairing functionality, though. I use this headset with the USB-C dongle plugged into my computer. In general, I do like the headset especially because I don't like traditional headsets that go on top of your head. It works well, pretty consistently (plug and play), and lasts a long time. It is lightweight on the head so I can wear it all day.

These are not audiophile quality headphones, but they are excellent for calls and meetings
I've tested the OpenRun headset at a major sporting goods outlet on several occasions. I found them to be very comfortable with decent sound quality. A few months ago my work headset started to fail so I began researching a replacement. I wear this headset a minimum of 9 hours a day, sometimes 6 days a week, so I needed a comfortable headset. I also had to take into account my wearing hearing aids. Regular headsets don't work well with hearing aids, so this made my search even more difficult. When I began my search, I didn't know that Shokz had a headset with a microphone, it didn't take me long to find out they did. At first I was a little hesitant to drop $200 dollars on them not knowing how they would perform for my work needs, but I eventually gave in when my Jabra headset refused to hold a charge for more than an hour. 2 days later they arrived. I immediately tested these with my PC. I found they have a decent quality sound, same as the OpenRun. Let me point out that these are in no way comparable to any high end, audiophile quality headphones. The sound is good, but if you are a music snob, these aren't for you. The highs and lows are very good, but I find the mid range a little muddy. They are still good enough to stream music while working or working out, but they do not compare to the sound of any high end headphones or speakers. Several reviewers found the lows uncomfortable. Yes, certain sounds in the low frequencies will cause an uncomfortable feeling where these meet your head. This was most evident when receiving a call, the ring tone sometimes is almost painful. This is the one point that I dislike about them, they have a default ring tone that I have yet to figure out how to change, it's Wagner's Ride of the Valkyries. Now I like this tune as much as anyone, but when your entire skull vibrates, you are very quick to answer that call. I'd love to be able to change to a less intense tune as well as find a way to adjust it's volume. I could handle the tune if the volume were a bit lower, but the only way I have found to do that is to turn the headset volume down, but then hearing well on some calls becomes difficult. So overall I would say the quality of the product seems excellent, they are very comfortable, they work well with hearing aids, and the sound quality is very good. Again, not audiophile quality, but still very good for the average person. They beat out earbuds and most work quality, closed headphones in all of these areas. 9 out of 10, would buy again and have already recommended these to several of my coworkers who also have hearing aids.

Excellent earphones
These earphones are a bit expensive, but its quality is definitely superior. Bone conduction is great, you can stay with them for hours without feeling uncomfortable. After trying many different options these are the best. Long battery life after charging, excellent sound quality and you can pair them with your PC and smartphone.

Poor quality and longevity, terrible customer service experience with Shokz
I'd stay away from this product from Shokz, but also from Shokz as a company after some hard lessons learned. I purchased this headset in October 2024 and have been working with Shokz customer service as recently as today. Let me start by saying this is not my first Shokz product. As a family, we have used other Shokz products and really enjoy the ability to be able to hear traffic while out walking, kids while working in the house, etc. while listening to music or podcasts. I decided to splurge on the OpenComm2 for work since I spend most of my day on calls and was looking for a more comfortable solution and one where I could hear what was going on around me. Right away I was impressed. Bone conduction won't blow you away for musical sound quality, but for being on calls all day, the audio was extremely crisp and clear. Recipients also reported that the mic clarity was excellent and the sound cancellation was outstanding. I was a happy customer. 3-4 months in, the mic started to go. Call recipients were mentioning that the mic would cut out for a few seconds at a time or I'd lose it all together on a call. I did some research online and found two troubling things: 1) The suggested process to fix the mic is to hard reset the headset, which is what Shokz support recommends you do, and didn't work for me even with multiple attempts, and 2) There are a ton of people out there that have the same headset and have microphone problems at the 3-6 month mark. I filed a warranty claim with Shokz. The warranty process was not great. Their warranty website page is extremely buggy (on purpose?) and took a few attempts to get the claim submitted. A few days later, someone reached out and mentioned they would ship out a replacement unit and they didn't want the original back. Six weeks later I received the replacement. I had purchased a different headset in the meantime since I still needed one for work and it was obvious the Shokz process wasn't going to move quickly. When the new headset arrived, I tried it right away and the microphone was dead on arrival. Not only that, the boom was very loose compared to the original. I contacted customer service again and they again suggested a headset hard reset. They did not want the unit back. They suggested instead of the bluetooth model, I try a USB model instead for the next replacement. In the meantime I'd been researching online and just seeing tons of reports of people having the same issue I was having. I also noticed a "2025 Update" model. I inquired about that model to the customer service rep and they mentioned there were two primary updates: the charging cable and the robustness and quality of the microphone. I inquired as to why they didn't send me or even suggest the updated model if they knew I was having mic issues with both and they avoided answering the question- my guess is they are trying to offload old inventory if the 2025 version indeed does have improvements to the microphone. In general, Shokz customer service avoids answering any of your questions, tries to push you on their ideas, and is not timely in providing responses. Another fun detail, and this is in the warranty information included in the package, is that replacement units carry a warranty claim that starts on the original purchase date of the first unit. One detail they did explain that was if I did indeed go with the 2025 model, I would forfeit the first 6-7 months of the warranty period since it was replacing a unit I purchased in 2024. To me, that's a big deal when they make the process so difficult and spread out (takes days for responses from them and weeks for shipping) and speaks volumes about what little faith they have in their product. There are also some artificial "limitations" as far as how they can help if you buy the product on Amazon instead of through Shokz directly. Moving forward, our household will not be buying any additional Shokz products. I made a $160 mistake and I hope I can persuade you not to make the same one. If you are determined to have bone conduction, get headphones instead of a headset. If you're set on a headset, make sure you get the 2025 updated model and verify when you receive the product. I also would not recommend this if you rely on your headset daily for work. Hope this experience was helpful to someone and helps prevent someone future frustration.

You can charge while using & battery lasts just under 8 hours
This is my new review of my second purchase of the same OpenComm2 USB-A magnetic model: I LOVE LOVE LOVE these. I cannot love without them; I can wear Skull Screws hearing protection AND a hardhat, and if I'm feeling extra spicy I can also wear these with my hazmat suit. When battery is low or I am done, I simply throw them over my CB cable and put the magnet near the charging magnet receiver, and should I ever need to quickly throw these on or grab and go, I don't have to think at all whether they are plugged in, the magnetic charger disconnects. I have encountered a few circumstances where I legitimately needed to use these while they were charging, and while this is possible, it may be tough unless you are fairly still as the magnetic charger is not the strongest... after all this time, the magnet strength seems useful, but I can't imagine it could get any stronger without increasing the size, and it's perfectly sized right now. Some things I absolutely HATE: the beeping and the automated voice. I prefer to use these at minimum volume or almost minimum, and they are plenty loud for phone calls, else I turn them up. The beeping is DEAFENING and the voice is also too loud. There is zero volume control for the hardware feedback so you have to learn how to set it and forget it, and not accidentally touch anything, and adjust volume by your phone/device. I have a fairly small head and these are massive, so I am basically drowning in them. So I do wish there could be a smaller size. Also, they are very rigid in shape, so the only "adjustment" is adhering to a large head, which I don't have, and even if I did; their rigidity is extreme enough to cause eventual discomfort, as although they are very light it does add up especially for glasses wearing, although most people probably won't be wearing these for 15 or so hours. Overall, these are my favorite and make work-life balance so easy. They're incredibly easy to clean especially thanks to the magnetic charge connection, and I feel comfortably wiping them down and wearing in heavy rain for extended periods of time. I sure don't understand how the "OpenComm2 2025 Upgrade" is not called "Downgrade". The updated version of this product was a serious letdown, as USB C takes away the convenience of something you should be able to throw on and go. As soon as I turn these on, I hear "Device 1 Connected", I never have trouble pairing this with my phone. And even the one time I did, it's as simple as restarting. I would absolutely go out of my way to further improve this amazing product; it is a huge safety benefit and productivity tool in personal and work life. This is my old and original 3/5 star review: Firstly, I give unduplicatable and impeccable reviews, so I deserve some credit: W/A 1. Mic is non-removable but can be turned out of the way without issue 2. Magnet for charger is very WEAK and when you attempt to charge while using beware: disconnecting the charger is a non-issue, however every time the charger reconnects, the OpenComms 2 will turn off! Turning on is fairly quick: hold one of the power buttons and it turns in and connects after some time. 3. The hardware's feedback is insanely obnoxious! Volume adjustment is always the same too-loud volume level. When turning the device on, you cannot use volume buttons to seek or play, and the device repeats your battery level regardless if you press volume up or down. And no, you cannot play, pause, or seek songs or podcasts (any media) from the power buttons. Volume buttons are strictly for: turning the device on, turning it off, and adjusting volume if you don't have the device in hand. 4. Sound quality is great and sounds really accurate. Bass will not reverberate but it does NOT sound as bad as those baseless tinny headphones from the 2000's. I would choose these over headphones any day. The bass is "baseless" but still sounds alright. No, audio is not balanced all the time in regard to fade or frequency, but it's a nonissue. Listening to someone speak over a podcast is clear and easily perceptive. 5. I will update this review after using with hearing protection and while driving a semi truck. I will attempt to use the mic to control Siri, so stay tuned. Update: The battery life is no lie, and it does charge to full quick. The whole "battery high" and "battery medium" is annoyingly broad, but if you're tracking your time usage it's not so tough to know when it's time to charge. I found myself using hearing protection more to hear better, and preferred the volume to be at almost the lowest level all the time. When I turned the volume up, any better connections would drown put anyone trying to talk to me and it was just too loud. The sound quality is no professional headset, but it's great for videos, podcasts, and okay for music. The mic is completely useless for siri unless you're actively listening to audio through the headset, and even then I'm still unsure if it uses the microphone to trigger siri or if it's because the truck is just quiet enough. I would definitely recommend these, even if you'll only use the microphone one to a few times a week. The biggest caveat is the unbalanced audio. It often seemed as those I could hear audio out of the left ear than the right ear, as the right conductor was not touching to my skin enough. When I pushed it down, it felt like lots of travel, and I could not seem to bend it in place. They work great and it isn't a huge issue because they usually sound balanced. What are they worth? In my opinion no more than $110. Would I buy these OpenComm2's knowing all of this even though the price is way over $150? Yes. Button feedback noise? Uhg the beeping makes it worth maybe $40. The beeping is painfully loud and never okay. I have to separate these from touching my skin just to turn them on, off, etc.
