I tested this with RO water, and it read 0 with no adjustment. Even with only indoor lighting at night it was easy to read.

You can adjust the focus easily to read the numbers clearly.

I calibrated with distilled water as instructed. The brix scale is easy enough to read but the SG scale is virtually impossible. I checked the wort which has been in the fermenter for 2 weeks. There is no activity. This meter has the SG at 1.027. I found that hard to believe so I tested the same batch with a hydrometer which was 1.01. I checked it again using a different hydrometer and got 1.01. I'm using this wrong or this is completely inaccurate.

I like the design. I have something similar at work for testing coolant. But this one is not accurate. Whether it was just mine or all. Confirmed calibration with distilled water. Tested a batch of wine I had going. Glass hydrometer showed 1.028 SG, this refractometer shower 1.067. That is quite a difference. I wanted something easier to measure wine with but this version is not it. Gave 2 stars only because of the design and ease of use. If they get it accurate I’d love to try another one. Whether this brand or another brand.

well it works . calibration was accurate outta the box . It's a LOW end sugar unit , brix 32. Top of chart . But easy and accurate
