Awesome pressure cooker
This is my second unit. I originally bought my first unit in 2020. Alas after constant use it just failed and was out of warranty 5 years later. I used it quite a bit for steaking and pressure cooking stews, and beans. This newer version is just as great. It has an app that is pretty neat to use (although it took me a few tried to connect the pressure cooker to my wifi conection). But it has been as reliable and versitile as my older unit. I would highly recommend it.

Kitchen Must
Instant Pot? Pretty sure they just went under because *they're product is SO good that you won't need to buy a new one for years*. Yeah. So if you have an opportunity to get one, get one while you still can. It makes a ton of food, they're big. You can cook all manner of food in here, with different cook modes. Super easy to use. Super easy to clean. And what's really cool about this thing (past how it's just a perfect pressure cooker, slow cooker) is that it can hook up to wifi. Yeah, so I'd slow cook food while I was at work and I could monitor the thing on the app. It's a kitchen must. No doubt one of the great culinary inventions of the 21st century

Excellent, accessible Instant Pot
Awesome accessibility:I have owned an Instant Pot for the last nine years and my original one just died. Accessibility and ease of use for me is extremely important. I happen to be a person who is blind and am a huge Instant Pot fan. So when I knew that I could connect the device to Wi-Fi and have it work seamlessly through the app without dealing with the touchscreen, I was sold. In the last week I have made several meals and I couldn't be more pleased. If you are a person who is blind or has low vision, you can be sure that the app works nearly flawlessly. The only accessibility issue is that you have to turn on screen recognition to find the start button in order to choose the mode of cooking. Love the two handles on the pot that keeps things from twirling around as I'm stirring. I couldn't be more pleased with all the things that it can do which I have yet to explore.

Better Features than Older Models - But Several Important Differences
This is my second instant pot. My IP Ultra model recently died so I had to upgrade. Here are several important differences from previous models: 1) The inner pot has two hand holders - this is great because the previous models would swirl around when stirring. This new version prevents that from happening. 2) The cord is not removable - not a huge deal, but wondering why they would make this change. The cord is located in the back left corner. So plugging into an outlet on the back right made for a strange bend in the cord. Wondering why they can't simply place the cord in the back middle. Not a deal breaker for me, but you should be aware of it. 3) Steam valve: this works a bit differently than other models. No way to manually vent or release steam. It has to be done through the control panel. It is possible to change the setting mid-stream, but there is a delay of a few seconds once you input on the control panel. 4) Older IP accessories may not work - I used to do Pot-in-Pot cooking with a 2 level PIP on top of a trivet. This worked fine in my Instant Pot Ultra. But the first time I tried it in my IP Pro Plus, the pin got stuck, and the lid locked closed. I couldn't open it because the pin needed room to clear. I managed to figure a way out to open it by turning the pot upside down. But this new IP seems to have a slightly lower clearance. So you'll have to use a shorter trivet, or a shorter PIP. Otherwise your lid may get stuck in locked mode. The bluetooth/wireless feature seems nice, but I tend to use the pot while I'm at home anyway. So I'm not sure how helpful it will be over time. But you do have the ability to turn on the IP while you're away from home. It involves downloading an app and connecting your IP to the wifi. The phone app gives notifications when the pre-heating is done, so thats a nice feature. The other main reason I bought this was because of the pressure canning. You can fit up to 4 quart size mason jars to can food. This is really nice. Because of its higher temperature/pressure abilities, this IP can theoretically cook food faster vs older models. I haven't tried it out yet. They also have a feature called "Nutriboost". This is simply a feature where the IP lets out steam periodically. Food in the inner pot then gets agitated. If this is done periodically throughout, then the food gets stirred. Its good for things like risotto and dhals where you want a smooth consistency. Its a nice feature but the name is a little misleading -- nothing about this boosts nutrition. It is simply a fancy way to stir your food while pressure cooking.

Techies like us, love having Bluetooth accessibility! Great InstantPot!
Our original InstantPot just "bit the dust." We LOVED having it and it produced many, many wonderful memories meals for us. While we mourned the passing of our "Old Faithful" InstantPot, I decided to start researching other electric pressure cookers and again, we came back to InstantPot and wanted to see what options they had. After reading all of the reviews and articles on this particular model, I told my wife 'PLEASE, PLEASE get me this one for Christmas!" She said, you can go ahead and order it but you're not allowed to open it until Christmas! Like anyone, I said YES!!!! I opened it and then downloaded the app being that it is Bluetooth compatible. I cannot tell you enough, what a pleasant surprise it was, to see just how easy it was to set up and connect via our home WiFi. I can now use the app to set the time, the release time, etc. It's amazingly friendly to use and works great. One thing I will tell you is that if you, like me, use the Saute' mode, to first brown meat, you can NOT start hte InstantPot in this mode via the app. You must physically hit the start button in order to have the Saute' mode come on. Yes, you can set it up in the app but cannot physically start the InstantPot in this particular mode. I know I"m repating myself but I want to make sure that everyone understands this. To me, it's a safety feature and I can appreciate why it's done this way. The last thing you want to do is to accidently have your InstantPot start in this mode while you're away or remote. PROS: Excellent quality, every time I turn it on, it immediately conects to the WiFi and can be accessed via the app CONS: None noted at the time of this review.

USED item sold as NEW
UPDATE: Received replacement and it's the WRONG (older model with fewer features) in the box! This is insanity. Our previous Instapot died 3 days ago, and we needed another before Thanksgiving. The new one clearly arrived in a VERY used condition. Looks like someone cooked a few meals in it, then used it as a bowling ball. Shame on the manufacturer store for trying to pass this off as new. Returning immediately. Update 2: The replacement pot was in the correct box, but had a different Instant Pot in it. The ouside of the box very clearly says Instant Pot, and the device inside also is an instant pot, the same model as our old one but not the upgraded version we bought. Contacted Instant Pot directly to see what can be done about getting the WRONG item in the RIGHT box. Their incredibly lame and disappointing response is "We don't sell that" I can find the exact same model we ordered on their website. The one they "don't sell" Final update: Contacted Amazon and explained the situation. They immediately refunded our money (thank you). We ordered again without much hope. To our surprise, the package that arrived today was the correct pot in the correct box finally Buyer beware, the device itself is fantastic but if your box comes with tape all over it you probably didn't get what you ordered. I am leaving this at 1 star because Instant Pot customer servicw was absolutley abyssmal and refused to even try to correct the situation. I would buy from a local appliance store vs. online because of this...getting what we ordered has been a lot of uneccesary drama. The pot itself can be reviewed now: The set in handles that keep the pot from spinning around while you sautee are fantastic. They fit firmly in place and make lifting the pot out easy. The liner pot is MUCH higher quality than the regular instant pots. The disc bottom is thicker than the original pots, and fully 3 ply clad, and it shows. There is no convex in the center of the bottom so you can keep food where you want it. The steam release is variable and no touch. The 3 setting options are great and require much less attention/timer setting. It is also MUCH quieter than previous models. The Keep Warm setting can now be used as a reheat setting, with a high, medium, low and custom temp. The Nutriboost setting is useful for gently shaking the pot while cooking to help blend better and keep food from sticking to the bottom initially. The buld seems very sturdy, very pleased over all with the additional features and functions of this pot. Would recommend, but suggest buying in person to avoid getting scammed.

Rolls Royce of Instant Pots
I’m so happy with my Instant Pot Pro Max with WiFi. The best feature is the auto venting. No more waiting for food to finish cooking before venting, no more spill overs, no more steam burns. Easy to program separate venting methods in app, like natural release 10 minutes followed by quick release. Sous vide & instructions from Serious Eats produced the best steak I’ve ever eaten. 100% restaurant quality. Pork belly also turned out super soft. So good! Excellent for cooking pasta at high altitude. Cooking pasta on the stove at high altitude takes forever, but only 4-6 minutes (pressure cook) after preheating in the Instant Pot. One pot noodle casseroles are also a breeze. Best of all, my visually impaired daughter can easily use it thanks to WiFi & the app. This will be so helpful after my upcoming back surgery w/ a 6 month recovery time. We won’t be stuck with months of frozen dinners like we were the last time I had this same surgery. She’ll be able to easily cook with limited help from me & the pot is small enough to where we can use it in my bedroom, so she doesn’t have to carry plates up the stairs. This is the perfect Instant Pot for unique families like ours.

I like that the app has a "Timed Venting" option
Updated 12/29/24 - My Instant Pot timed venting wish has finally come true, so I just changed my rating to five stars. They added a new app option when timed venting is selected, so now you can choose the amount of time you want to vent the pot. It takes the guessing game out of using the timed venting feature. It's the addition I have been hoping for ever since they added timed venting to the app. Updated 9/27/24: They just added a new notification feature to the app and I really like it. You get a push status notification when the pressure cooker starts preheating, then moves to the cooking cycle, then goes into venting mode and when it completes the venting cycle. It's particularly helpful to get notified when it goes into the venting process in case you want to precisely time the venting based on what you are cooking. It's a helpful enhancement. Original review - I have an older model 6 QT Instant Pot Pro and I wanted this new one for its ability to connect to wifi, so I can use the app to control it. I especially like that the app has an extra venting option that is not available on the panel of the Instant Pot itself. It's a "Timed" option (see photo) that I actually discovered by accident when I was programming a cooking cycle. It's not explained anywhere in the documentation or even in the app, but it's very helpful when doing grains where I want it to natural release for a few minutes and then quickly finish the release without manual intervention. This is where the "Timed" option comes in. It seems to kick in about five to seven minutes after natural release starts. It varies, maybe based on how full the pot is, but since there's no documentation, it's just a guess on my part. It works great because I can be anywhere in the house and not have to rush to my kitchen to manually change the venting to quick release. I really love being able to monitor the progress from my iPhone and see when it has finished whatever cycle I've chosen. The cooking pot itself is different than my older model. It has two handles on it so it makes lifting the hot pot out of the unit so easy. I also like that it automatically seals itself when you lock the lid. No more manually turning a small knob from venting to sealing. That makes it foolproof. It cooks the same way as my older model, but these new options make it my preferred pot. It doesn't have as many preprogrammed settings as my older model, but I never really used those anyway. I like to use the standard pressure cook option and choose the cooking times and the pressure and venting levels myself. I took one star off because "Timed Venting" is not a feature on the unit and it's not explained in any documentation, but it's offered as a feature in the app. I think they need to point that out somewhere and not leave it up to consumers to find it by accident or have to guess to see how it works.

Pleasantly Surprised after I decided to Ignore a negative review.
Instant Pot Pro Plus Exceeds Expectations: I was initially hesitant to upgrade my old pressure cooker to the new Instant Pot Pro Plus, especially after reading a concerning review about its Wi-Fi connectivity and the company's financial troubles. However, after some research and a prompt response from Instant Brands' customer care, I decided to take the plunge when the price dropped again. Upon receiving the Instant Pot Pro Plus, I was delighted to find that my worries were unfounded. The Wi-Fi connectivity worked flawlessly after a bit of patience during the setup process, and the automatic venting and improved inner pot are significant improvements. Despite concerns raised about the company's financial situation and app issues in the June 17, 2023 review, I have not encountered any problems. Prior to purchase, I sent an email concerning the app issues and their rapid reply satisfied me that Instant Brands has addressed previous issues, and I am confident in they will support this product moving forward. It's worth noting that Instant Brands was purchased by affiliates of Centre Lane Partners in November 2023, which has likely contributed to the company's stability and product improvements. In conclusion, the Instant Pot Pro Plus has greatly impressed me with its performance and features. Don't let past concerns deter you—this appliance is worth every penny. (I did notice the price went up again after I ordered mine.) I am completely satisfied with my purchase and would highly recommend it to anyone in the market for a versatile and reliable pressure cooker.
