Decent Camera for the Money
Bought this for our son’s 2012 Honda Accord. Fairly easy to install with a little bit of handiness. Had to remove interior trunk panels to run the wire for the camera which was spliced into the reverse light. The “monitor” is decent size, but may be small if you’re used to a newer car’s rear camera on the stereo display. Camera quality is good and wireless connectivity seems good with little to no lag. Adjustability isn’t great. It would be better if you could adjust the red, yellow and green lines, because when red line appears very close to object, it is actually a few feet away. At least it isn’t the other way around. Glare definitely affects the camera since it’s doesn’t sit deep under the trunk lid, but that could differ with other makes/models. Overall, good quality backup camera for the money.

Satisfied User
The camera worked instantly and seamlessly after a simple install. Because I often pull a trailer with building materials and have a camper topper that allows no see thru vision, I elected to connect the camera to the running lights at the truck's back license plate. This made for a15 the 20 minute install. I've used it in the dark and rain with great vision. I couldn't be more pleased with the performance and price. I highly recommend it to others.

Super Easy to Install and Crystal Clear Video Quality!
I recently installed the AUTO-VOX Wireless Backup Camera on my SUV, and it has been a game-changer. Here’s why I’m so impressed: • Easy Installation: I was able to set it up in under an hour without needing professional help. The wireless design is fantastic, and it avoids the hassle of running cables through the car. • HD Video Quality: The 1080P display is super sharp, and the 5” screen is the perfect size for clear visibility. The picture quality during the day and at night is excellent, with no noticeable delay. • Reliable in All Weather: The IP69K waterproof rating is no joke. I’ve driven through rain and even some dusty conditions, and it still works perfectly. • Two-Channel Option: I love that it supports two cameras. This could come in handy if I want to add a front camera later. Overall, this camera exceeded my expectations. It’s a must-have for anyone looking to upgrade their car’s safety features without breaking the bank. Highly recommended!

AUTO-VOX Wireless Backup Camera (A+)
🛠️ Auto Vox Backup Camera Installation – Day 1 Log 📺 Monitor Setup Installation: Plugged the monitor into the cigarette lighter and mounted the bracket. Very easy setup. Power Test: Turned the key to ACC; monitor powered on. Pressed the center “M” button to activate the screen. Status: No camera installed yet, so no rear view available. 🔌 Initial System Test Goal: Test monitor, camera, and wireless connection before full installation. Connections: Connected camera leads to the wireless box. Connected red (+) wire to car battery’s positive terminal. Connected ground wire to car battery’s negative terminal. Tip: Highly recommend purchasing the CEN-TECH 36 in., 2 Colors Test Lead and Alligator Clips Set ($2.99 at Harbor Freight) or another equivalent vendor. It saves time and simplifies testing. 📷 Camera Activation Pressed the “M” button again to connect to Camera 1. Result: Impressed by the camera’s image quality—clear grid lines and rear-view visibility. 🚙 Full Installation (2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo) Time Estimate: Took about 3 hours (not a quick 30-minute job). Mounting: Installed the camera on the rear license plate. Drilled a hole at the top of the plate to route the leads toward the driver-side taillight. Wiring: Removed the taillight unit. Located the reverse wire (purple in this vehicle); black wire used for ground. Stripped wires and soldered connections (recommend investing ~$10 in a soldering iron kit). Covered connections with electrical tape. ✅ Final Test & Satisfaction Re-tested the system after wiring. Closed all panels. Conclusion: Very satisfied with the purchase and installation results. As soon as I put my jeep in reverse the camera displayed a crystal-clear view behind my vehicle. I would have given this product 5 stars except for the length of installation. Be prepared to take your time and do a quality install.

Getting the wires set up.
Good camera for an older car without one. Have been use to one on our truck and then we bought a used car for me (Ford Fusion) and I was lost. Husband says this is so much better than the one in our F150. Glad I got it!

Broke after 1 day
This isn't really "wireless". You do have to drill a hole by the license plate, run wire through it. Inside the car, the wire has to be run through the panel of the hatchback, then down to the reverse light cord. If you don't know how to splice wires, you'll need to find someone who does or follow youtube instructions. Anyway, it worked about 24 hours and had a great picture, then it just died for no apparent reason.

Great Upgrade to my old pickup
I have an older pickup truck with no backup camera. This $49 unit was exactly what I needed. I connected to the reverse lights and then the signal is sent to the monitor by radio frequency with no issues. Set up one minute. Complete install ten minutes.

Auto Vox Backup camera I used my first Vox Camera on a Kubota 4 wd Buggy to aid with backing. It amazed me how simple the installation turned out to be. The one downside was having to keep charging the camera but it worked perfectly and served its purpose. When I Saw this more updated version advertised on Amazon recently, I purchased it, and planned to install on another run around vehicle. It has just arrived and has proved to be so much better than the first. The camera is simple to attach to the number plate will be simple to attach to the backing light at the rear of the vehicle. However, it works perfectly just connected to any 12volt system. Only now with it up and running on my dining room table do I realise what a great devise it is. I plugged the monitor into a car jump start system with cigarette light plug and attached the camera separately with clips to a small 12v battery. The Wifi has a strong connection through closed doors etc so the system can be utilised to monitor other situations - a baby room, a child’s play area, a swimming pool area, a drive way, pets outside, a back yard or as is intended be used as a backing camera in any vehicle. It would also be perfect to set up in a horse float. Anyone who has travelled with horses will appreciate the value of being able to monitor what is happening inside the float avoiding the need for unnecessary stops. It is a great investment, good picture quality, easy to set up, and very reasonably priced. I highly recommend it. EB

An outstanding camera which is so easy to install. This camera was ordered due to the reversing camera in my motorhome being fogged up with moisture. It is the second AutoVox camera I have had as I have one on Debon box trailer . I am not disappointed. The camera is crystal clear and having adjustable ‘guide lines’ for reversing allows the user to achieve a unique set up for their vehicle. As my motorhome is wider than a car, it was easy to establish lines that allow me to judge all hazards. The camera arrived the following day after ordering and was set up in my motorhome within 40mins. Connecting the camera to reversing lights was easy once the reversing light wires were established. The camera fits neatly behind the number plate and is inconspicuous. The 5” monitor is small enough to not take over the dash but big enough to see the crystal clear image from the camera. I have installed the monitor on a ‘heavy satnav pad’ purchased a couple of years ago from Amazon which allows me to remove it from the dash easily when I close the blinds at night. Overall this is an excellent camera which has allowed me to be confident in reversing my 8m Motorhome again. I am considering purchasing another camera similar to the one I have on my trailer, a high level camera. The two channel monitor would allow me to connect the high level camera when I am carrying bikes on the back of my motorhome. Having both cameras operating will alert me to absolutely anything that could be considered a hazard. I would highly recommend this camera and AutoVox. Having two of their products and both being outstanding in every respect is a rare thing found in a company these days.

The Auto-vox W12 backup camera system is an improvement over the previous auto-vox camera systems. The screen is wider and sleeker without the antenna. The quality of the exterior finishing of the monitor looks better than previous versions. The monitor is easy to mount on the dashboard and easily connects to the cigarette lighter socket. The camera was easy to install at the top of the license plate and the improved license bracket makes this so much easier. Connecting the wiring to the reverse was quite easy too. The wires are marked clearly. The ground is secured to the body and the other is attached to the reverse light in the rear. Once connected just start the vehicle and shift to reverse gear and almost instantly you have a clear view of the rear of the vehicle. I am impressed with the clarity of the display. I am happy with this purchase and would recommend it to anyone looking for a backup camera.

Works like a charm. Kind of hard to fish camera power wiring from the front to inside the passenger cabin to access a circuit that switches on/off with the ignition. I'm using it as a front facing camera rather than for backup, as car came equipped with backup cam. I modified the monitor base with a airvent type as I didn't want it on the dash. Wireless signal is very strong with a exceptional picture. Wie use it more for parking assist as car is low and have problems with high concrete curbs etc. Also great for parking centered between the parking spot lines. Our Kia has a blind spot that makes it difficult to see. I really wanted to purchase a dual camera model that Amazon doesn't sell, but Auto-Vox does. Since the monitor is a dual camera monitor it makes sense to have the extra cam. Very good unit tuhat I would definitely recommend.

Recently installed on LWB Sprinter and very happy with the product. Took less than 10 minutes to install. Great picture in both day and night vision with excellent viewing angle and zero delay engaging camera to screen. Have installed a number of reversing cameras over the years and rate this as one of the best. Highly recommend it.
