Is this a trackball mouse?

This is NOT a trackball. It is a ball shaped scrolling wheel. It will only scroll up and down, not side to side or any other direction.

Does it have an on/off button?

Yes,it does. Turn the mouse upside down and you will see down and on the right of the red light a small sliding switch. With a good light you will see, to the left of the switch small off and on notations. Lots of mice have this arraignment and sometimes you have to use something thinner and sharper than a fingernail to slide the switch.

How can I get in touch with the company for my warranty?

There should have been a paper inside the box with the number, if I'm not mistaken. I think you can also get a hold of amazon to see if they can help as weel.
