It's strong and importantly dead flat -- there are four steel bars threaded within the mesh to ensure this. The black extruded metal frame is riveted at the corners, there is no rattle or twist and the whole thing is surprisingly heavy, which is good.The 20mm thick honeycomb metal mesh itself is precisely made and quite dense, with a pitch of ~ 12 x 10mm. The unit comes with a set of flat-head plastic plugs that push securely into the mesh for holding down the workpiece if required.
