Sleek, responsive, and a joy to use with Mac and iPad
I’ve used quite a few computer mice over the years, but the Apple Magic Mouse stands out for its combination of design, functionality, and convenience. It’s fast, intuitive, and feels like a natural extension of the Mac and iPad experience. I first picked this up to replace an older mouse that had started giving me hand strain during long working sessions. The Bluetooth connection was seamless — it paired instantly with both my MacBook and iPad, and switching between devices is effortless. The rechargeable battery is a real bonus. Unlike older models that required disposable batteries, this one charges quickly via USB-C and lasts for days of regular use, which is both practical and environmentally friendly. The Multi-Touch surface is surprisingly intuitive. Scrolling, swiping between desktops, and performing gestures feels smooth and responsive, making navigation quicker and more enjoyable than with a traditional mouse. I also appreciate how quiet it is — clicks are soft, yet still tactile enough to feel precise. Design-wise, the Magic Mouse is sleek and minimalistic. It looks elegant on the desk, doesn’t take up much space, and is comfortable enough for long periods of work. While it takes a short period to get used to the low profile, once accustomed, it’s easy to handle and control. Overall, the Apple Magic Mouse is an excellent investment for anyone using a Mac or iPad. It’s reliable, rechargeable, and intuitive to use, with a design that’s both elegant and functional. For everyday work, creative tasks, or casual browsing, it’s hard to imagine a better combination of style and performance.

Apple MagicMouse
Paired with my MacBook and the Magic Keyboard, the Magic Mouse has been a positive surprise. I keep my MacBook tucked behind a portable monitor when working at my bureau, which creates a great iMac-like setup. With Touch ID on the keyboard, secure access is quick and seamless even when the laptop lid is closed so well worth the extra cost. Setting up the Magic Mouse was effortless: switch it on, and the MacBook immediately detected it, allowing me to customise preferences in seconds. Despite its low profile and sleek glass-like shell, the mouse feels substantial in the hand and delivers smooth, responsive performance. The built-in gesture controls adds value, going beyond a standard mouse and blending beautifully with macOS. Elegant, reliable, and thoughtfully designed, it’s a perfect companion to the Magic Keyboard. As for the much-discussed charging port on the bottom, I see it as a necessary trade-off for the slim design. The battery life is excellent. It came with 86% of the battery and after two weeks of light daily use, mine is still at 83%. Finding a moment to recharge every so often really isn’t an issue.

Does what it says on the box- of course
It’s an Apple product, it works, straight away. No substitute for quality and convenience, I purchased it confidently and wasn’t disappointed. Connected instantly with my MacBook and never skips, judders or freezes.

Very nice mouse and surprisingly useful features - some problems
Was initially very apprehensive about this mouse but its grown on me considerably. Guess that's why its remained unchanged for several years. It's not perfect, be careful about the surface on which you use. It doesn't glide nicely, due to 2 rails down the side (apparently due to needing some friction to prevent mouse moving whilst you use the touch sensitive top). It's not particularly ergonomic either, but you can get a very cheap plastic surround that helps with this. Overall it's a nice mouse to use with Mac mini. The issues with charging on the base are overstated, it only needs charging every few weeks and does this quickly.

Painful to use and erratic behaviour with M3 MacBook Air
Not impressed at all. Looks nice but not fit for purpose in my opinion. Too flat for comfortable use, edges are very harsh. Scrolling does not work at all. Pointer often jumps around screen and movement is very erratic with my MacBook Air M3. I have a cheap Logitech mouse that came bundled with a wireless keyboard and that works perfectly. Ignore the reviewers that that justify this by saying no mice work well with Macs, that is nonsense. Retuned and bought Keychron instead.

Not worth it for newer Macbooks
It’s ok - to be honest I haven’t really used it at all since getting it, the trackpad on my new Mac M4 is brilliant and basically mitigates the need for a mouse. It’s kinda small aswell so hard to grip onto. Now there are some cool gestures you can do with it, but nothing that the touchpad can’t already do. On my old windows laptop I used a wireless mouse all the time but with this new one the trackpad is so good that there really isn’t a need for a 70 odd euro mouse. Nice to have though all the same.
