Interchangeable Crochet Hook Set, USF 5/3.75mm-J10/6mm (Pastel)

Just taught myself Tunisian crochet and I've tried a bunch of different hooks - bamboo, aluminum, etc. I got cheap hooks, and I bought some more pricey hooks too. I also got splinters from my bamboo hooks, but that's another story. As a crocheter for many decades, I know that the tools you choose can be just as important as the fiber used - and every person has to find what works for them. Furthermore, I absolutely detest plastic hooks and have had really awful experiences with them. When one of my favorite YouTube crochet designers recommended these hooks, I was really skeptical. I mean, plastic just doesn't move nicely with most yarn, right? Fast forward to today. I'm not a Tunisian expert yet, but I've managed to learn several stitches and make quite a few items. I have had these hooks for the past month and have been using them pretty much exclusively since I got them. I'm floored by how much I like these hooks. They are phenomenal, and beat the heck out of any of the other hook sets I bought - seriously! Even the super expensive stuff!! Although they say these hooks are made of plastic, this is not the cheap stuff you might see with other crochet hooks that drag on your yarn. I don't know what kind of magic plastic it's made of, but it glides over your yarn as smooth as I've ever seen. Every type of yarn I've used: acrylic, wool, cotton (even cotton - seriously!!) glided like it was on air. I am amazed at how lightweight these hooks are, so my wrists don't hurt. The colors are pleasant, the cables are easy to interchange and they haven't loosened up on me thus far. My only gripe is that these hooks are SHORT - like 4 inches. Even if you don't have a big hand, the hooks end around your palm and that can be uncomfortable. These would be perfect if the hooks were at least 6" long. But if you have the extension cable, it is totally doable. I was so prepared to hate these things, and say "Meh - plastic hooks suck" - but I am in love with these things. They are well worth the extra money over the cheap bamboo versions out there if you enjoy the Tunisian crochet craft and want to do more than just one or two items. I recommend them lots!

These interchangeable Tunisian hooks are awesome! Most importantly, they are affordable!! I feel that the connecting cable is easy to use and seems to stay on well. I heard some clicking while crocheting with them, but checked the connection and it was good. The kit comes with one connector piece, 2 button ends and several lengths of cable. I read other complaints of the hooks being small, but they fit in my hand perfectly. I use the knife-hold for Tunisian crochet.

To short and the connectors aren’t very easy to deal with either. I’m guessing they are saying sheerness for the ease of them in the yarn. They do move well in the yarn except if it wasn’t for the extensions there’s nothing to hang onto. The extension in the kit are short so you have to connect them all together to use on just 1 project at a time. Nice quality hooks for sure.

Relatively new to this particular stitch. Disappointed that making a larger project does not seem possible. Purchased the extenders with the larger project in mind but not used because it doesnt look possible to support a larger project.

The hooks and cords work well together, and once you get the hang of it, customizing the size of cord you need is simple. I like being able to work a larger tunisian piece and the cords make it possible to do curved work. The hooks are shorter than my typical tunisian hooks and the gauge didn't match other hooks of the same size when used on the same swatch at the same time. I'm not a fan of having tunisian cords flopping around while I'm working, but this set wasn't too bad. Even when I had to work a large number of loops onto the cords, the hook did a good reverse pass and the loops slid easily. Overall, I do like this set, and have used it on a specific pattern. I also still prefer straight hooks most of the time, so it didn't totally win me over to a corded tunisian hook.

Having very difficult time using my regular long metal afghan/Tunisian hooks after several surgeries to shoulder/head/neck, needed to try something new to finish WIP for son from last several years. This set has literally set me free with Tunisian crochet! Was skeptical about comfort and size of actual hook, very easy to use! Love the cable, have not had any issues with it getting stuck in work--slides nice and easy through work. Hook is shorter than standard but very manageable, and comfortable. Only thing I would change, include a longer cable with set instead of shorter ones--only use longest that comes with set. I can now work on Tunisian project every day without severe pain. Highly recommend! For the price, it is worth taking the chance if you are having difficulty with longer hooks. Very transportable too.

I love these hooks because the cable quickly snaps on by just a small turn . I like I don’t have to use a key to attach them . It comes with different lengths of cable that I like and comes also with an attachment so I can make the cable longer when needed for bigger projects . The hooks are very smooth as well as the cable so there aren’t any catching or snagging the yarn . The plastic warms as I’m using them not like metal hooks which are cold and hurt my hand . I recommend these and also the bigger sizes too .
