This device uses a phase-change material to almost immediately drop the temperature to 140°F and then keeps it there for well past the time I take to drink it. It's especially nice that I can make a cup of tea and start drinking it almost immediately after pouring it into this bottle.I rate this five stars because it's so close to perfect for me and solves the problem brilliantly. It does have some downsides that may affect your decision, however.1. 10oz is a little small - I tended to drink 12-16oz of coffee or tea before I got this. My understanding is the company is working on a larger version, and I'll probably buy it when it comes out.2. 140° is a little cooler than my girlfriend likes her coffee. It's almost perfect, perhaps even a little hot, for me but she likes hers very hot. If you like yours hotter than most you may find this a little too cool.3. The stopper lid doesn't pivot completely out of the way, so it presses on the bridge of your nose a bit when you're drinking. Perhaps I just haven't found the secret, but I wish it could be flipped all the way out of the way.4. It's surprisingly heavy. She claims this will bring the temp down to safe drinking levels, and keep it that way for some time. Her only complaints are the above average weight (this is not just a vacuum insulated tumbler, is has some hefty heat absorbing material in it), the opening on top is just a bit weird, and if your drink doesn't start out super hot, it might cool the drink off just a little bit too much.
