It was horrible. Zero mapping. Incapable of completing a cleaning cycle without constant babysitting. The mouth of the dust bin gets clogged with pet hair every half hour. Dumb as a brick. *by J***H on December 27, 2024* I love Shark/Ninja products. I have 2 Shark vacuums. They are great. This is the first product of theirs that I can honestly say I don’t like. I can’t find anything to like. This doesn’t save time. I probably have 8 hours into trying to get the house mapped. The app is worthless and there is no support for the app. I’ve tried multiple times to create rooms. The app will not save them. I identify the rooms, click on save and after a minute the map redisplays without the rooms. The idea is that you can create “rooms” and “zones” for the robot to clean. If you can’t save what you create then what good is it? All I can do is vacuum the entire house. There is no manual or demand clean function other than spot cleaning. You have to schedule it or it’s nothing. The robot itself does not vacuum as advertised. It is supposed to clean in two directions. It only cleans in one. The “Matrix” function is available only for spot cleaning and that’s limited to a 5 foot by 5 foot area. The direction constantly changes depending on the mood of the robot. The robot is easily confused by furniture…like dining room tables. Area rugs confuse it. Doors confuse it (it keeps trying to get in behind the open door). It will try to climb floor lamps. It will try to climb furniture. Any piece of furniture that is has legs the robot will try desperately to knock it over to get underneath it. I guess if you have a completely open floor plan with little or no furniture, no kids, no pets, and you don’t where shoes then I think it might work. If your home is split level…forget it! Apparently Shark wants you to purchase a 2nd robot. Apparently there is a “merge” function for mapping but it doesn’t work. No explanation for what it might do. I’m not really sure that this unit is all that useful. In the time I’ve spent mapping and remapping the floor plan and trying to create rooms, and following the robot around I could have vacuumed the entire house several times manually. My house is 1800 square feet and I only mapped half of the house. It took 1 hour and 20 minutes to do one full sweep of the mapped area. It used 70% of the battery. It’s loud enough, more from it bumping into everything to find where it’s at, that running it while you sleep is out of the question. At this point I’m not even going to try the mopping function.
