My daughter is blind & has mild cerebral palsy. She quickly figured out how to attach the handle with my verbal instructions & really loves the leverage it gives her while getting in & out of our car. I have a broken ankle & will try it out next time I drive somewhere. It feels like it will work great. Very sturdy. Bought Vive’s model because a) it’s a great brand & b) the part that attaches to the door is designed not to scratch the car’s paint, unlike other brands made of metal. It’s solid, heavy & durable. My daughter also really loves how the handle makes a clicking sound when it attaches to the lock loop, so she knows when it’s secure enough to use. Definitely worth the extra money. A wonderful idea. This helps not only getting in but out of the car as well. It works so well, I've purchased this same handle assist for several other family members. It is durable, good strength and feel when being used. A great value as it's saved several of the family from falls while getting out of the car. Easy to use and store away. This was perfect for my Terrain. My daughter bought one also with out knowing that I got one. This one fit better because my latch hook was big. The one my daughter got had a small hook and was sloppy in fit. This smaller hooked one fit great in a Toyota.

This is such a help to get out of the car without using one hand on the back of the seat. I have knee pain and it is a real help. It's like having a grab bar to get out and useful getting into the car as well. I bought it for my husband who is recovering from a stroke to help him get into the car from a wheelchair but found it useful for myself as well and I bought a second one for my daughter who has also found it helpful for her hip pain, getting in and out of the car.
