The Selection Series 1-5: (The Selection, the Elite, the One, the Heir and the Crown) [Kiera Cass] on desertcart.com. *FREE* shipping on qualifying offers. The Selection Series 1-5: (The Selection, the Elite, the One, the Heir and the Crown) Review: Great books - Amazing books, fell in love with them. I'm not usually one to go for this type of book but they are well written and we are able to see actual character growth throughout the story. The main characters have their flaws, which makes it more realistic, and the author does a good job of making everyone have a background while not making it overwhelming for the reader. Review: As Good as Divergent and the Hungry Series! - World War III has happened and the world is divided a lot differently than it is now. America is ruled by a King and Queen. Their son is allowed a wife through The Selection. An invitation is sent to each sector of America to different women in different Caste Systems. Each has to return her invitation with a reply as to whether she will go through the Selection or not. That's the beginning of the Series. After being selected each girl is chosen by Prince Maxon as to whether she will stay for the continuation of the Selection or whether she will go home to her family. America Singer doesn't want to be in the Selection, she already has the love of her life even though he is one caste below her. She doesn't want to leave her family, she loves them and knows that they need her income to survive. After her love turns her away America allows herself to answer the invitation from the palace but doesn't know what that will mean to her. Being in one of the lowest castes she doesn't understand that it will mean that she can eat regularly, be clean, and have a new wardrobe and maids. She must find a way to stay when she finds out that the palace is paying her family for her to be there. After being able to stay through the first cut in the Selection you learn that she fights with the only weapon she has, her brain. She goes through many changes from book to book but you can't help but route for her as the underdog in the contest. She faces the love of her live again in a later book and must decide if she will stay in love with him and be risen up through the castes due to his working for the Palace and her being in the Selection or will she try for something she never thought she wanted Prince Maxon's love. As you read from book to book you see the fine clothes and the palace as through her eyes. You see the Prince but you never know quit what he is thinking. And when the King turns against her you know that her luck has run out. Along with all of that there is unrest in the Kingdom and rebels fight to overthrow the monarchy and take possession of the Palace and everything it holds, including the girls in the Selection. This is a fascinating place to be inside of and the Selection will keep your attention from book 1 to book 5 without letting up on the suspense. I highly recommend that you take the time to read this series!

PERFECT (some spoilers)
When I read the summary for this book, I thought meh, the plot seems a little iffy. I mean, how more shallow can you get than a bunch of girls competing for a guy’s attention? Turns out, you can get a LOT shallower. This book made me cry and laugh, and I read the whole series in a weekend. Some parts made me mad, but I can excuse those. I mean, we need some ups and downs in a series. The Selection follows America Singer as she leaves behind everything she’s ever known to basically fight 34 other girls in a last one standing competition to marry Prince Maxon (angel. perfect. need i say more), who is the embodiment of goodness and is just too pure for this mean world. Well, for Ilea. The relationship that America has with Maxon is perfect. Friends to lovers sort of thing. It’s wholesome in a way that we all need sometimes, and the writing is smooth and easy. It’s pleasure to read, and I reread the series every once and a while. COULD NOT RECOMMEND MOREEEEE!

Maxon and Aspen are relationship goals!
Spoilers!! Y’all I can’t get over how much I absolutely LOVED this whole series! I can’t believe I sat on it for so long. It was the Bachelor/ Bachelorette meets the hunger games. I absolutely loved the first 3 books in this series! I couldn’t put them down and I was just drawn into all the drama; it was perfect. I could see how it might not be for everyone but it was it for me!! I don’t normally go for side story but I needed more of this series so I decided to give the last 2 books in this series a go and let me tell you I read both books in a day. I couldn’t get enough of them either. I was so excited getting to read more about how America’s and Maxon’s lives moved forward. How those close to them were still involved in their lives so much. I love how Aspen was still so much apart of the story even though he was very much a side person in the last two. I really enjoyed reading through Eadlyn story and how it was so different yet similar to her parents story. How she ended up with someone even though she hadn’t planned to and even more so he wasn’t even part of the selection! (All the heart eyes!!) Really the author did such a great job bringing both stories together! I just wish there was more for me to read. I know this series will be one to stay with me. Only thing I wish was that there had been duel POV because I’m dying to know more of what the guys where thinking and feeling through all 5 books! Though that could be hard with this series. Please don’t wait to read this series it just too good!!

Unique Young Adult Series
A younger acquaintance recommended this romantic series for YA. I am much, much older but was intrigued. I enjoyed them immensely as the premise was unique. A few flaws perhaps. Some story elements are not fleshed out or explained as they might have been by another, but seemed to be the author's choice to keep the narrative strictly from the point of view of the major character.

Fantastic writing trying not to binge through each book in 2 days
Absolulove the series and the writer only pitfall was when I got to book 3 today and got to Chapter 19 I found the page torn half off. I know for a fact this was a new series it was heat sealed and every page is crisp except this one. I almost blamed my 5 year old but knew the book hasn't left my possession all day, which I just started today and am half way through it if that tells you how good the writing is. Sad it is ripped n I'll have a hard time figuring out that page but otherwise I'm not returning the whole series over 1 torn page
