With break-in reports increasing in frequency, I decided it was time to beef up my door security. I bought heavy duty door jamb plates and used these long screws to secure them knowing that these were long enough to go through the door jamb and into the supporting lumber. I also replaced two inner screws from each of my hinges, which were pathetic in size with these after drilling pilot holes through in order to prevent splitting. The new, longer screws really went deep into solid wood and greatly increased the strength of the hinge mount.

Screws are fine but they ARE NOT Phillips as pictured. Now I need to source the Torx driver bit as the one supplies is too short.Can't rate seller for some reason...

Torx drivers should be the default in all screws. There is no cam out and you can apply a lot of torque.

Spax makes great screws. They use terminology interchangeably for thread sizes versus length. You can do better!

Screws are good but for the price you can have the real thing in stainless steel.

These screws are much higher quality than you can get at the local big box store.
