Excellent flow rate
Nice and strong water flow. Great value for money. Two and a half years and running nice. I messed up: it was a little longer than I had planned for, but I was able to make it work. Once installed, I was very happy with its performance.

Great bang for your buck! Perfect pump for lawn/yard irrigation!
UPDATE 3/18/25: 3 years in, and the pump continues to perform PERFECTLY! Maintains prime and no drop in PSI or gpm volume. After a bunch of research and reading reviews, I chose the Hallmark Industries 1/2hp deep well pump for my irrigation system. My well is 44’ deep with a 24” diameter, so based on the reviews and research, this model (MA0343X-4-DO) was a good fit. Wiring the pump was pretty easy. Definitely need to use shrink tape, and I also used liquid electrical tape to seal the deal. And since I’ll be using the pump on an as-needed basis, I installed a 20A heavy duty inline rocker switch rather than a control box. The instructions recommend a check valve be installed (despite it having one built in), and rather than running into a problem later, it was a no-brainer to spend $12 on one from Lowes and install it about 18” above the pump outlet. They also recommended that you test the pump in a bucket of water prior to installation. Again, a no-brainer since you’d rather find a problem prior to dropping it in the well and completely plumbing it. Just put 3’ of water in a trash can, plug it in and make sure you get 6”+ of upright flow. With the check valve installed, the pump pushed water up about 12”. Not bad. Once installed in the well (pump suspended at 40’ with 1” ID black coil tubing) and plumbed with a variety of PVC connections, I tested it out and found the pump pushes 10 gpm @ 61 psi out a standard outdoor faucet at the top of the well, and 61 psi also at the end of a 75’, 3/4” garden hose. Not as much pressure (70-75 psi) as the Wayne PLS100 I use on a shallow well we have, but more than adequate for my sprinklers. And about $90 less than the Wayne. All in all, I ended up spending $195 in total for the pump and the various parts to plumb it up for my DIY lawn watering system. Bottom line is this pump is well worth the $130 price tag. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I had to replace this pump in 3 years - and I couldn't be happier
I bought this pump to replace the exact same pump that I bought 3 years ago. I had found a abandoned shallow well on my property that I wanted to pump from to water the yard. I did a horrible installation job the first time. I wired the pump by splicing an outdoor extension cord to it and plumbed it in with a 3/4" garden hose. The pump probably wasn't getting the proper voltage delivered to it and the small hose that had a permanent kink where it bent coming out of the top of the well casing must have caused constant back pressure in the system. On top of that, the entirety of my well is drilled through a layer of gypsum - causing the pump to operate in water that is saturated with sulfates. A corrosive environment to be sure. In spite of all of this, the pump worked very well. After three years in use, one of my underground wire splices (not the one at the pump) failed and I decided to just redo the whole system with proper wiring and plumbing. I pulled the pump out of the well and it was black with a corrosive stain. I tried testing it in a deep bucket and it pumped a little bit then quit. I'm not sure why it failed then, but considering the abuse that I put it through for 3 years and the harsh environment that it was operating in, I decided that this was a good opportunity to replace it - which I did. That the old pump didn't die on its own - I murdered it. The new pump is is now wired in with proper 14 Gauge wire and I've got 1" PVC pipe running from the top of the pump to ground level and then buried for a run of 40 feet to my water distribution point. When I turned the pump on, it worked just fine. The larger pipe is resulting in a much greater flow of water than I ever had before. Actually, it's a pretty impressive flow for a pump of this size. Bottom line: If you are looking for a well-built, robust, reliable and very reasonably-priced small pump, this is the one to get.

Good pump for the cost!
First of all, I don't know much about drilled wells but I'm learning. Had a well drilled 6 months ago and finally installed this pump at the 90 ft level. (the well is 100 feet) It pumped some of the nastiest water I have ever seen, the appearance was quite like chocolate milk at times. Anyway, I had it controlled by a timer, on for 2 minutes and off for 15 minutes in an attempt to slowly clear the silt and sand from the well. The pump quit after about 24 hours, tripped a 10 amp breaker. I ended up pulling the pump and found the impeller locked up from small rocks inside the pump. I washed and rinsed and got the pump cleared and it fired right up again so back in the hole it went. This time its at the 80 foot level, I'll slowly drop it as the water gets more clear. A note about how the small rocks got in the impellers... There is a stainless steel cover with small holes that acts as a screen, held in place with two screws. Opposite side from the screws there is a notch and a tab that allows for the motor wiring to enter the pump motor housing; that tab was not sized to keep rocks larger than the screen holes from entering the pump. I fixed this by installing a stainless steel hose clamp around the bottom portion of the screen, doesn't affect flow as none of the perforated holes are covered but the open area for the pump wiring is no longer open for debris to enter the pump. Overall, I think this is a good pump, I'm buying another one as a backup since this pump has been abused but keeps on going. I'll give it 5 stars if it operates through developing the well and runs for at least a year irrigating gardens and pastures.

Great off grid pump. 24v 2000w inverter powered.
UPDATE 4/2/22: Still running strong. Working on 8 years now, 100% powered by off grid solar energy via pure sine wave inverter. I’m buying another one of these to put into backup storage. With supply chains going down, and prices going up, I’m stocking replacements of everything I might need, and I’m buying what I think I can count on. And this pump is definitely one I can count on! ORIGINAL REVIEW: I bought this 1/2hp pump and I installed it in 2015. It’s now dec 2019. Pretty much 5 years. I live off grid, it’s powered by a 2000w pure sine wave inverter and 4 battery bank. It’s surge / inflow current is easily handled by my 2000/2500 inverter. Which is remarkable for a 700watt-running motor. The pump is placed about 150’ below grade, and my static water column is at 80’ feet below grade (total well depth is 430’). Even at this depth, the pump has no Problem pumping water up to grade, and then laterally about 200’ to the house, for cistern storage. Piping in the well is 1”. Piping over ground is 3/4”. Outflow rate at the end is about 6gpm. It’s a very reliable and tough pump. I’ve been very impressed. I’m currently dealing with jet pump problems. I use a 1/2hp jet pump to pull water from cistern and pressurize house lines. It’s running stats are only 600watts. But its inflow current start up demand trips my inverter into overload every time. So I’m currently running the jetpump off a 4000watt generator just to handle the handle the surge. I bring this up to illustrate how great this hallmark pump is. The hallmark running wattage is 100 more than the jet pump, but the hallmark is built so well, it’s surge start up current is minimal and easily handled by my inverter even with other loads running, whereas the jet pump with a lower running wattage trips my inverter every time even if I turn literally everything off. This hallmark Is great!!!

Seems to be a good pump!
Ok, we have been using this pump for our house. Did the test and added a check valve as noted. So far, all is GOOD. I want to note some points. The wire on our 120V was only about 12 feet. Not really an issue, as they supplied a wiring kit, so we used our existing wire to reach the point. Our well is about 40' and the pressure was over 60 psi, so we are running 40-60 psi ... good for us. Some notes of concern.... the supplied wire seems to be about 14 ga. for this 1/2 hp pump... maybe some concern over time. Since our well is a bit shallow ... should be ok... deeper wells could be concerning with the AMP draw at 120V.... I would look into a 220V unit if this is your case. Really seems to be a great buy at this point... Time will tell.

Product didn't come in when I was promised it was gonna be in, so when it did come in I was gone out of state working. So when I did come in I read warranty and called Henry up and told him what and why I hadn't taken pump to get installed with in the time frame. I found a company to install pump in for me and we checked it in bucket like said to. Worked fine. So we proceeded to install pump. When installed we tried turning it on and it didn't have any pressure and burned out very quickly. So while trying to decide what we were gonna do I called Henry up and told him what had happened. He went on to call the person I hired a liar. And started telling him he didn't know how to install pumps. This is a man that has over 25years experience and is state certified. He was highly recommended by many rancher in our area. So went got new pump and he installed it and its working just fine. After I sent pump back Henry says oh yeah it was a bad pump. He says I am gonna send it to get warrentied and send it back to you. I told him it's too late I wasn't gonna wait for them to send me another pump and let cow go without water. That I had already put in a pump I just need my money returned. Plus if I would have had to wait I would have to pay guy to one back again. I don't like wasting money like that. So putting a new pump while we were there was better for me. And still Henry wants me to keep his pump. Told him what part do you not undertstand your pump cost me more that it was worth just send me my money back. Month later he promised to send money back and again it's been two month and no money returned to my account. Product crap and people crap. Don't buy from these people. They lie.

Held up well in very sub-optimal conditions (muddy water)
I installed this pump in mid-2018. Despite all instructions saying it was for finished wells with cement walls, I dropped it down into an unfinished pit with muddy water. It kept pumping brown, turbid water until March, 2026. I'm going to call that an impressive lifetime and durability, given that I was using it in direct contradiction to its intended purpose.
