Professional quality recorder at amateur prices.
Brilliant. The batteries last for ages. The 32 bit float is a huge advantage. I used this in a professional environment with very demanding criteria and was thrilled with the clarity of the input when using in a movie.

Cheapest Dual ADC Recorder Available?
I’m really impressed with this tiny recorder. I bought at the same time as the Tascam FR-AV2 which I also like a lot. The build quality feels cheap, but let’s be honest it is cheap. There is a lot of recorder for the money here. There has been some debate online about which 32-bit recorders actually have dual ADCs and which use some other workaround. This has dual ADCs and might be the cheapest dual ADC 32-bit recorder available. There has been some negative criticism about the noise levels but I’m not noticing it, and I record nature sounds where it would be obvious. I like the form factor, with the front facing XLR inputs, which means I have been plugging microphones in directly with no cables and using it like I use my portable Sony PCM-D100. Battery life, with just two AA batteries, and 48V power has been over 10 hours which I think is excellent. The only negative I have concerns the user interface, which seems a bit clunky. This is my first Zoom recorder though so others may be used to the screen. Of the recorders I own currently, which include the Sound Devices Mixpre 3II, Tascam FR-AV2 and Sony PCM-D100, I am finding myself picking this one to use most frequently due to its size and battery life.

Zoom H1 XLR
I use the device with XLR mics and lavaliers and I'm satisfied with all aspects of its performance, other than the headphone output, which is noisier than expected. It's small and despite being all plastic gives the impression of being solidly built. I use rechargeable batteries and an external power bank for longer recordings. The recorder is perfect for my use case because I don't need built in mics and I value its compact size. Spend another £100 and you'll get a more professional device, but for happy amateurs like me this little Zoom is plenty good enough.

Improves all audio massively
The best hands down improve in quality I've seen from any product. Even with my cheapo Rode VideoMic (about £40) there is a huge difference, even just for Discord calls. What makes this so great is being able to do semi-professional XLR recording setups (indie filmaking) and casual 3.5mm mic calls. The difference is being able to hear a air filter whooshing in the background where in-camera or laptop it's all just hiss. Makes a £40 mic suddenly sound worth 3x the price. A must have for any recording/interface user.

Good easy to use recorder!
once you set this up it is very easy to use just press record has stereo xlr or 1/4 jack inputs which you can switch from mic to line, I have a 128GB samsung micro sd card installed format in this recorder and it has given me 96 hours of recording time dependant on how you set the recording format. Its great!

Handy
Device is good and useful but if you attached rwo mics will record L R only stereo not 2 mono tracks, so if you're ok for that go for it otherwise h4 will he a better choice. 2 plus thing for it that you can run it in power bank directly

Amazing value for the price
This thing rocks, so simple to use and records clean audio. I am using it to record my IEM mix for live gigs, using it as an audio interface to my phone, it works perfectly. I haven't tried recording with a mic through the preamps but using it for line gear it works very well.

Zoom H1 xlr - Ottimo
Zoom H1 xlr: piccolo, leggero e maneggevole. Facilissimo da usare. Ottima qualità della registrazione (a patto di avere un buon microfono). Buon volume in cuffia. Consigliatissimo.

Never failed on me. 12 months of heavy use.
It's a must. No time code, but 32 bit is great.

Best value audio interface with personal recorder capabilities
I don't think I'll actually be using it much, but this device works better than the $300 tascam that I bought a few years ago. The Zoom H1 is just well designed and intuitive. It can switch between battery power and powering from the USB automatically. It connects without any problems to my laptop and my PC and my microphones. I haven't tried using SD card with it yet since I just use it as an audio interface to record directly to my PC. I also haven't tested it with a phone so I'm not sure if it will work with that. The unit seems solid and well made for something that is just a fancy electronic device in a plastic case. It's tiny, it's portable. You can toss it in a bag. This is probably the best device that you can get for the money in this form factor.
