Akira 35th Anniversary Box Set

It feels like an ancient runic you accidentally stumble upon and feel unworthy to even touch it because of it’s overwhelming beauty. I had to sell a kidney to buy it but I think it’s worth it cause if THIS isn’t peak I don’t know what is.

This product was exactly what I expected it to be. It’s almost perfection with exception of one tiny thing: The AKIRA fan club book doesn’t have the same dimensions as the other five books in the collection so they can’t fit neatly in my library and the box itself is too big and outstandish to be placed in my library. I think the makers intended the books to remain in their very nice box that they come in, but that’s not a good reason in my opinion, hence the 4 stars. If you don’t care about taking them out of their box, then buy all means this might be perfect for you. I kinda wished all pages would be colored; given the price, but that’s an exception and not the rule in mangas.

I understand why some people are raving fans of Akira. It is dynamic. Akira is about a bit creepy kid and the future of Japan rests with him.

Elimde, Gerekli Şeyler’in yayımladığı Türkçe ‘soft cover’ ilk iki cildi mevcuttu. Bu seti almalıydım. Ancak hep erteledim kendime sözümü. Araya yıllar girdi… Şimdi, Miyazaki’nin epey geç olmakla Rüzgârlı Vadi’sini, iki sanat kitabı ve resimli öykü kitabı ile edinmişken, Amazon’un gezinirken sürekli karşıma çıkardığı bu canavarı es geçemedim. Yanında AKIRA Art of Wall sokak furyası için, Otomo’nun 35. yıla özel (2017/2019) Shibuya sokaklarını bezediği mangadan panelleri devasâlaştırdığı çalışmalarını bütünleyen ciltlerden oluşan sunumu da edindim. Uzun sözün özü, Amazon Türkiye satışındayken ve yeniden böyle indirime girer mi bilinmez, hemen alın!..
