PREMIUM (tan label) ~ Rich Tasting ~ Poultry Gravy ~ Quick ~ 30-60 Sec. Stir Time.
This PREMIUM poultry gravy is much better then McCormick regular red label. We've used both. Comments for 'RED label' are in footnote. -------------------------------------------------------- This is a PREMIUM gravy that will go with chicken or turkey, it's a quick fix with a flavorful taste. It doesn't have the stronger taste like McCormick turkey gravy does. The entire 20 oz bottle yields 1 gallon of gravy = 16 cups. and can be prepared in any smaller amount you need ~ this bottle goes a long way. Directions are included on the bottle ~ lift white arrow at left-hand bottom corner of back label. It's prepared just the opposite of the single packs which I consider a real plus. DIRECTIONS RECIPE SIZE --------- 1 Cup ------- 1 Quart ------- 1 Gallon -----------------------^---------------^---------------^----- GRAVY MIX ---------- 1/4 cup ------ 1 cup ------ full bottle WATER --------------- 1 cup ------- 4 cups ------- 1 gallon > BRING water to boil. Remove from heat. > GRADUALLY whisk in gravy mix. > WHISK 30 seconds to 1 minute. If thinner consistency is desired, stir in additional hot water as needed. I've found the gravy is thickened & ready in less then 30 sec. For comparison ~ McCormick ~ single ~ packets contain 0.87 oz and yield 1 cup. The single packs must be watched over from the beginning. 1. First add the contents in the pan ~ 2. Gradually add water while stirring frequently with a whisk until it comes to a boil ~ 3. Keep stirring on simmer 1 min. or until gravy thickens. I appreciate the more convenient way this gravy is prepared and the economical cost. Our family regularly uses several flavors of McCormick gravy's in these large size bottles and all are excellent! Poultry ~ Brown ~ Au Jus ~ Country Gravy ~ Taco seasoning. ------------------------------------------------------------ FOOTNOTE ~ McCormick RED label poultry gravy Taste OK ~ but is disappointing if you've used McCormick PREMIUM gravy. DIRECTIONS - RECIPE SIZE ------- 1 1/4 Cup ------- 1 Quart ------- 1 Gallon -----------------------^-----------------^--------------^----- GRAVY MIX --------- 1/4 cup ------ 1 cup + 2 tbsp -- full bottle WATER --------------1 1/4 cup ------- 1 quart -------- 1 gallon MIX poultry gravy mix and water in saucepan until well blended. BRING to boil over medium-high heat, stirring frequently. Reduce heat. SIMMER for 5 to 8 minutes. WELL! I was skeptical, because the PREMIUM gravy directions call for 1 cup water to 1/4 c mix. So I didn't use the extra 1/4 c water. Simmered the mix for 8 minutes and it never did get quite as thick as the original gravy. (Seems to me the only reason this 18 oz bottle makes 1 gallon is because the gravy is much thinner and I prefer the 'PREMIUM' 30 to 60 sec. stir time rather then 'RED' 5 to 8 min simmer) McCormick tip - for richer creamier gravy substitute 1/4 of the water with milk. Doesn't contain MSG or artificial flavors. Instructions on back of bottle, peal back label.

Great!!!
I cannot recommend the McCormick Poultry Gravy Mix enough. I have tried making scratch gravy for years, and while homemade has its place, this packet is the undisputed king of convenience without sacrificing that warm, savory comfort-food flavor. Here is why this mix has earned a permanent spot in my pantry: Incredible Flavor Balance: It has that classic, savory poultry taste that pairs perfectly with everything from roasted chicken to holiday turkey. It isn't overwhelmingly salty like some other brands; it just tastes hearty and rich. Zero Lumps, Every Time: The biggest headache with gravy is getting the consistency right. With McCormick, you just whisk it with water, bring it to a boil, and simmer. It thickens beautifully into a smooth, velvety sauce in minutes. A "Fixer" for Homemade Meals: Sometimes a roast bird doesn't give off enough drippings, or the homemade gravy turns out too thin. I often use a packet of this to bolster my homemade gravy, adding depth and ensuring there is enough to go around for everyone. Versatility: It isn't just for Thanksgiving! I use this for hot turkey sandwiches on weeknights, poured over biscuits, or as a base for a quick chicken pot pie filling. Pro Tip: If you want to trick your guests into thinking itโs entirely homemade, swap a little bit of the water for milk or heavy cream, and add a pinch of dried sage or fresh cracked black pepper. It elevates the flavor instantly! The Verdict: If you want a stress-free, consistent, and delicious gravy that is ready in 5 minutes, buy this. It is an absolute staple for any home cook.

Excellent!!!!!!
The only 2 things you really need to know is the Gravy is really good and super easy to make. With that said, don't pay attention to the directions unless you are making a really large batch. Here is the truth if making a single serving or for 2 or 3 people. Take maybe 1/4 or 1/2 cup water and maybe a table spoon of the power; maybe less. You boil the water first and sprike it in. In honestly a wisk really does help remove clumps but if dont have a fork will do just takes longer. A little goes a long way. If you use the entire bottle like the instructions or 1 full cup like the instructions say, you better have a lot of guests because that is a ton of gravy. The taste is very close to home made but takes half the time

Gravy and So Much More *
I bought this a while back and I guess I forgot to do the review. I'm almost ready to purchase another one. Don't get me wrong, as this will last you a long time. It's very difficult to find Gluten Free Gravies. These are the best tasting gravies. I use it for gravy, mixing small amounts with gluten free flour as breading on meats, in casseroles, in many dishes. I do like the small packages of this, but if you frequently make gravy or casseroles, the price of those small packets will break you. On my center Island, I have the Gluten Free Poultry Gravy Tub and the Gluten Free Beef Gravy Tub. The tubs are great, because you can use a teaspoon, if that's all you need or 1/2 cup, if you need. I take a small amount (maybe 1/4 cup of gravy mix) and mix with cold water to make a paste. Then I thin it out with more water and heat it up or add it to my baked dish or casserole. It doesn't have directions, but do you need them? It takes the mix and water. That's it. I pretty much just use the Beef for beef and hamburger and the Poultry for everything else. I'll use the Poultry Gluten Free Gravy Mix for Chicken, Turkey, Turkey Patties, Pork and I've even used it for Ham. When I use it for Ham, I mix the gravy pretty thin and then cook the ham slices or chunks in it. I love this mix and use it all the time. I do use the Poultry flavor much more than the Beef flavor, but only because we eat poultry 4 to 1 to what we eat beef. The only downside to these gravies is the sodium content. I make sure that everything else is low sodium. I do recommend this. Thank you for reading my review.

Cooks great, nice bulk quantity
I got tired of having to buy individual gravy packs at the grocery store and could not get a bulk quantity except online. This was exactly the gravy flavor I was looking for and is easy enough to make.

Quick and easy prep; decent flavor; good value compared with pouch gravy mixes
As you would expect, this powdered gravy mix won't hold a candle to scratch made gravy, but it still produces a pretty tasty gravy. It's quick and easy to make, and the texture is decently thick and lump-free. The flavor works well with both chicken and turkey dishes. My only complaint is, as with nearly all gravy mixes, there's a high salt level. A good item to have on hand for when time is tight and you want some gravy. The large container is a much, much better value than getting it in the individual packets. 5 stars

Expensive but worth it.
Great taste. Like homemade gravy. Doesn't take a lot powder to make gravy.. I will certainly buy it again.

flavor varies from where it is manufactured. asian manufactured is still the best
its very different from the one that came from south east asia. same company, same named flavor but very different taste and color.

better than grandmothers secret gravy
a simple tablespoon or two makes a refined gravy not too salty. not a chemical after taste. not just for fowl. alone on mashed potatoes
