Within moments of delivery, this was easily up and running! HDMI lead connected, then the controller and finally the power. Just input your WEP key and there you go, it's a snap. Blu-ray is amazing and the games equally so. Being able to watch the BBC iplayer on the big screen is an added bonus. Previous reviewers say that the fan is noisy, well not so at least not on this one or others I've seen. There are but two little things Sony could have improved on. Firstly, these are the days of full HD display or at least HD ready TV's so they could have included a HDMI cable with the package. C'mon Sony, these aren't expensive anymore. Secondly, this slim version has a matt black finish, not the best idea for something which will attract dust. Far better to have had the smooth 'piano black' casing as with the 'fat' PS3. These are very small niggles and hardly worth a mention. When you would expect to pay almost as much for just a blu-ray/DVD player, this really does so much more and certainly worth the price. Review: Most satisfactory - Unlike some other reviews, I don't think this is a noisy product. Placed in a unit with the door closed, I can't hear it in operation. I previously had a 60GB PS3, and whilst I think it looked better, it was noisier, and took up a lot more space. The slim PS3 doesn't seem to heat up like my old fat model. Won't play ps2 games, but if that's important you can always keep your ps2 in a cupboard, or if you don't have one already, pick one up for buttons in game / gamestation, etc. With game selling used games quite reasonably in store, it's not difficult to build up a library of games without incurring major expense. All in all this is a top machine.
