The cassette will expire after a couple of months once inserted into the machine, regardless of whether the date on the box is longer. You may end up wasting a lot of tests. **Q: please excuse my ignorance but from reading reviews it looks like this is not a complete package to test yourself? i.e. you need a machine too ? tx** A: You do need a machine aswell. If you check through the Amazon lists you can probably get both together. Please note that once the cassette has been put into the machine. You only have 90 days to use 50 tests. Irrespective of expiry date. Hope this helps. Machine I have is accu-check model U1. Hope this helps **Q: Is this correct to use in accu-chek mobile model u1?** A: I use mine in the accu-chek mobile but I'm not sure if the model is U1 but cassette worked well. Something I did discover was that the cassette is only valid for 90 days once it has been started on.
