These attic ladder hinges are for a 200 square foot tiny cabin that we’re in the home stretch of completing. In this small space, I’m constantly looking for new and creative ways to maximize every inch of space - this oftentimes includes utilizing items for purposes of which they were not originally intended. I built an up-high stowaway foldable ladder that I used the hinges for. They are strong and sturdy, heavy, and well made - the hinges have made the ladder feel super secure, they stay folded and easily open with the appropriate force.

I got this hinge to be part of the hardware to fabricate a custom attic ladder for a nonstandard space. The hinges are designed specifically for ladders and are an exact match to attic ladders I’ve used in the past. That said, if it’s a wooden ladder then it doesn’t have to be an exact match to work as a repair part. The barrel is thick and rotates freely without slop. If you’re doing a new install you can mount it to a straight board, draw a line between the screws and cut the line for a perfect fit.
