the backpack is solid but a bit stiff, a lot of zips/compartments so I am yet to get used to it. One thing lacking is that it does not have a water bag compartment so it is not designed for hiking. I initially wanted to return. However, I think it still can be used for other purposes.

I bought the black with “burnt coral” accents because the coral looks rose gold to me. I admit I bought it because it’s pretty, but that’s because I thought spaciousness and well organized would be a given with North Face. But for me all it is is pretty, and it’s going back.It opens not as wide as I’d like. The side pockets are a bit narrow. The criss-crossy straps are just decoration. The hanging hook in an inside pocket is way inside a second zip pocket, and not on the open end in case you actually want that hooked item to be more accessible. The back padding is hard. I get that it’s protecting the laptop, but it also needs to be comfortable to wear a potentially long time. I feel like this backpack acts like it has more to offer than it does. Style over substance.
