great for projects, great for emergencies, great heat inserts
i bought these for a few random projects i had or will have so it just sat in my drawer, soldering iron tips and everything. but when i needed these inserts oh boy did they work beautifully. i don't have the most professional soldering iron but the soldering iron tip this comes with fits great and fits the little inserts good enough for me to melt them into whatever i need and once ive melted them in, boy do they grip. the inserts are tough and tight in the plastic, and it's easy to use to screw in whatever you need. the example i bought a plastic shotgun stock that came in a pretty poor state, where the buttpad was supposed to screw on and there was no hole for the screw. come in these little inserts, went in nice and smooth and worked with my junk drawer mlok screws for a quick, cheap and solid fix, the few dollars i paid for these inserts actually made my shotgun stock worth it's price which is a win.

Great inserts and soldering iron tips!
These are my first heat inserts, bought them bc i was tired of hot gluing 3d printed parts together. Picked these bc it looked like good value for money (it totally is). The included tips fit the inserts and my soldering iron perfectly. The case was kinda jam packed so i 3d printed a holder for the soldering iron tips which freed up a lot of space. Btw if you dont have one already get a 3d printer along with these. I dont think they would work with anything else. For me, the M3 size fits in a hole with a 4.5mm diameter and the M2.5 size fits in a 3.4mm hole. This may vary depending on your printer so i recommend making a test with several different sized holes to see what fits best.

Perfect
I love these things. I use them often in my 3D printing projects. Itโs very easy to set them in with a soldering iron, and the included tips work well. You have to design your part in a certain way that allows any extra melted material to have room to escape, or else the plastic comes up into the threads and gums it up.

Works great for 3D prints!
These work really good. They're pretty easy to install using a basic soldering iron. No need for a special press or anything like that.

You need some. :-)
Good as a budget mixed kit, but verify the insert type before you buy, since heat set inserts for plastic, wood inserts, and rivet nuts serve very different jobs, and confirm the thread standard so the included bolts actually match. Look for brass for plastic work, and stainless or grade 8.8 steel for bolts, with clean knurling and sharp threads as quality signs, and avoid unlabeled mixes of metric and SAE. For 3D prints, size the hole to the insert minor diameter and use about 200 to 240 Celsius depending on filament, pressing straight and letting it cool before loading a screw, for wood drill the correct pilot and drive with a double nut, and for sheet metal match the grip range to thickness and practice on scrap. If you share the exact listing, I can map pilot sizes, insertion temperatures, and bolt lengths for your project. ๐โค๏ธ

Perfect for 3D prints requiring a screw.
I bought these threaded inserts and they arrived quickly. I use these for my 3D prints that require a screw. The kit comes with 2 soldering tips, one for each size. Very simple to use. You just put the appropriate sized tip, heat up the soldering iron and press them into position.
